not your typical mmorpg

from a recent interview on gamasutra:

"We have all these classes, and all these classes have their own content, and all this content connects together as you're playing through the different classes. Now, you're getting to see and understand different parts of the world that you might have not understood previously.

"So, by the time you're playing the third class, you can say, 'Oh, I get that! That's because of such and such.' And you feel smart and you understand the mythos and the world. And hopefully, it will create something that just amazes people and they've never even considered before."

umhh, im not new to swiching classes and rerolling in an mmo but making playing more then 1 class/char as one of your core concepts seems pretty far of the typical mmoRPG path...

Being social and talking to others in MMO's always works.  Asking others could fill you in on the story thus creating some serious MMO social interaction which most MMO's lack. I hope to Alpha/beta test it, sure would be nice.

People used to re-template all the time in SWG just to try new things. Being able to switch classes by dropping one should be allowed in all MMOs.

ok its far to early but ill go into speculation and say that he didnt talk about a respec

hes actually talking about characters imho.

when every class has his own content that makes the game enjoyable either your character would be able to multiclass to enjoy it all or you actually would start different characters to see the differnt sides of the story.

since im a rpg'er at heart and hate to play multiple chars i hope for the 1st even tough i cant picture a jedi going sith then bountyhunter and so forth.

in kotor 1 i restarted the game with a 2nd char to play the dark side storyline but in an mmo id rather stick to one char/avatar

Man, I have been telling all my friends from Final Fantasy XI (online) that this is starting to sound more &more like it. Except for more PVP/RVR...!

Yes it sounds great. I will wait to see how it turns out.

In pre-ddo alpha, there was faciful talk about how you go into an instance, discover something then go back to the town with that discovery. You would be sent back only to find out the locals are now aware you came by and setup some defenses and surprises for you. You return with what you were sent to aquire and your contact informs you of who is behind the big bad plot and that only you can save the day.  Turns out this is just a matter of settings on the instance, low, medium, high.

I have hope, but I hope they are not false expectations.
