i wanted to know where the game stands now from someone who plays, got some questions:

are  the item and gear values  still  retarded. like 0.2 armor, and stuff. and does all the gear still look the same, have they added more variety to the gear.

is the endgame implemented yet?

I had a necro cleared levels 1-30 using only one nuke move. have they made it more balanced/challeging?

are the servers ghost?

My server was a ghost town when I returned this weekend. Thats about all I can say. Endgame doesnt matter much on a ghost town of a server, IMHO.  I tried for 3 hours to find a group to do anything at all.  Never was able to find one.

Some people are like slinkies, they dont really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Played a solid 8 hours yesterday and was doing multiple raids and questing in the mountains. Population is just fine and there are many posts in the AoC forum on what servers that are highest populated, having the most ruthless PvP action and which servers that have the best guilds. All sorts of information. I would really try there for more infor on what server to choose.

What if we already play on a dead server? What for us? Can we transfer?

    To the OP:

The items are still pretty useless - they still have the +.01 type modifiers you would remember.  Funcom has stated that they might be changing this sometime in the future, but no timelines at all have been given.

The endgame is still basically what it was at launch.

I've only played a Necro to low level, so don't know much about the class.  The magic system itself, however, has not changed much (though changes to other systems impact all classes differently).

The majority of servers are low population/dead.  It's impossible to tell, however, because FC is not honest with their "server load" descriptions.  The best you can do is look at some of the self-reported population numbers you can find pretty easily on the AoC Forum.  Wexx did a recent survey (available on AoC Forum) which shows what the respondents thought of their server population.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

    How is this possible?

How can you play 8 hours straight?

Do you have Vista and 4 gigs of ram?

If you were questing in the mountains, how did you also, get into raids?

Isn't the mountain area a level 50 area? Don't you have to be level 70+ to raid?

How did you do mutiple raids?

Don't they have timers, don't they have lockouts, are they all the sudden not bugged anymore?

What did you get on your raids?

Population is just fine? Really on Haunman there were fewer than 100 on Sat night, and fewer than 10 on at  7 AM this Monday. On the whole server.

Which server would you recommend, has the most ruthless PVP action? Which one has no exploiters or GM's who ban exploiters?

Let us know we are very curious to go there.

Dude. This is probably considered as a troll post by most people. Even the most ignorant person in the world know that AoC has been memory leak free since patch 2.0. Just a comment. Test the game and you would know. And whats you BS about raiding lol. Play the game at least before you start bitching.

Bearsham I admire your support of the game but what about the other 9 questions ?You can't call him a troll if he is wrong on only 10% of what he said ...that's illogical ?

I don't know what Pezz got in his raids or what raids he run. So you would have to wait for him to answer.

To answer to raid question. You can of course raid in lower level than 70 and it is not bugged. It is an experience with no hickups and it have been for a long time. That's why I call this a troll. The poster is so off the facts that this can't be ignoranze anymore. This is troll.

hmm seems to me like the poster posted a bunch of questions... I though that facts were statements not questions.  I think what would be helpful is to answer the questions with facts?  The only facts I saw him post were that the mountains area is 50+ and the population on his server is very low...

Well, my wife finally got curious enough last weekend and re-opened her AoC account. She said she had to know if these last few patches had made the game any better or not. She decided to pick up where she left off, which was playing her lvl 64 Assassin on Omm server.
Her computer system in mid-range with a Core 2 duo 6600, 4 gigs of ram and an 8800gt card. She plays on high graphic settings and after about 3 hours she got alot of lag and after 3 1/2 hours she crashed to loading screen. Some people out there may think that every single memory leak has been fixed but I can tell you that this is not true. The game ran pretty good for the first 3 hours but after that, gameplay went downhill fast. Also, I am not a noob when it comes to building a computer system and I am also very good at tweaking system settings to maximize the potential of each and every MMO that I play, so it wasnt my system's fault that my wife got bad lag and crashed.
Also, the Omm server seemed pretty quiet to me. My wife loves to group but after looking for similar lvl players she was only able to find 5 other players in 2 hours of looking and all 5 of them didnt want to group with an assassin. Perhaps that would have been different if she were a different class though, I dont know. Also, she is not in a guild so that may also be another reason as to why she couldnt get a group.
In the total of the 3 hours that she was playing she perhaps saw 10 other players in the game. There were perhaps around 100+ players online but she only physically saw perhaps 10 of them.
If FC wants to do something helpful, they may want to put in a command that will allow players to dump their cache to partially counteract the memory leak that the game still has.
Thats about all that I can contribute to this conversation because neither my wife or myself have any recent experience with the other points that were made earlier in this thread.

So, IMO AOC looks very nice on high settings with my graphic card and runs smoothly for about 3 hours. The combat is about average to me. Not a big fan of it but dont absolutely hate it either. The world however seems kinda dead because of not many players playing on Omm and not much chatter in chat channels either so it felt more like a single person game for the majority of time that my wife was online.
If FC has a system in place that would allow my wife the ability to transfer her characters over to a more populated server than that might be an option for her. Currently, rerolling a new toon on a populated server is out of the question. She has about 5 characters that she has leveled to over 30 and frankly Tortage is getting on our nerves. Tortage is fun the first few times but after you have done the story lines for the classes, repeating them is a pain in the ass.

So, if anyone knows if there is a free transfer process for getting off a low population server let us know otherwise AoC will be going back on the shelf in another 20 days. This is the 3rd time that my wife has subscribed/resubscribed since launch and each time there has not been significant improvement to convince her to keep playing past the month that she paid for.

Im glad that there are still a few people that enjoy playing the game but it just hasnt improved enough for myself or my wife.

Well i have played religuously for the last week and have not had any crashes, lag , memory leaks or any kind of  glitch whatsoever i spent 10 hours in game the other night and usually spend up to 6 hours on any other given night, to me the game atm is running flawlessly.

My system specs are as follows,

    CPU: AMD 5200+

    GPU: 8800gtx 768 mb

    HD 2 x 750gb in Raid setup

    OS: Vista Home basic

the rest is not really necessary.

It seems the game still has the issue of running on some pc's better than others for me it runs great and i have had no issues what so ever, have done plenty of Dungeon Crawls, plenty of Grouping (guilds do help) and have run across plenty of ppl in and out of the main City's, Not exactly Sure what server im on it was the Top one when i first logged in, i hear you with the regards to Tortage it can get very tiresome.

I honestly dont know what to sya to ppl who have issues i am not getting any here on my end and neither have any of my Guild buddy's, most ppl i play with including myself are getting in excess of 50+ fps on max settings and get well over 70+ FPS in Dungeons.
