Thats a shame.  Though Darkfall never had any type of pet system to begin with, most can agree with their decision due to the overpowering abilities in UO. (coming from a Tamer himself)

    UO was my fav game.

    Pre-trammel that is.

It's a carebear fest of scrubs now.

Hell, I would probabaly be killed by the npc spawn. If you don't have good gear, you suck. That is not a skill-based game. Sorry. Trammel also killed the sandbox. No risk, no return. It is WOW sans linear quests and cartoonish graphics. Sorry, just because you played some MUDS doesn't make you an authority on the evolution of MMORPGS. UO is dead. What you are playing is not the same game.

Dude...as far as 7x I don't know about that...I was quite certain that you could only gm 6 skills...not 7.  Granted I haven't played in a few years but please, for the love of God, pleeeaasseee tell me they didn't change that too.

I am currently awaiting DarkFall online and hoping that this last leap...will be the leap home...lol.

Rock on brother...or sister as the case may be.  I miss OLD SCHOOL UO so much it hurts...but when I came in after AoS...and found all my vanq and power stuff was now nerfed...well let's just say it was a bad day to be an inanimate object  that day around my fists...and then a bad day to be on and electronic around my TEARS...lol

But Darkfall...if even half of what they are promising...will return us home....granted it's graphics are not what most consider "cutting edge" but the systems and the sandbox world (huge sandbox world, 8 hours to run across in real time) will soon bring not only UO...but the pre-carebear feluca days back to those of us who want to go home, and we in turn need to take in the young players that want to experience what we always refer to as UO's glorious past, and mentor them...show them what a true world should be like in an mmo...not something made from a cookie cutter factory line, and not the lies of supposedly "free to play" (LMFAO at that term)mmo...we need to show them that a world with the right mechanics of gameplay can be a true home, even if it only exists in cyberspace.

I laugh at the people who say UO has been ruined, its not much different than it always was. The key change are...

    - New item stat system

    - Trammel

With a basic set of leather armor and 2/4 rings I can still take down noobs with the best items in-game. You can't expect to pwn people on the first day back. You gotta get back in the swing of things. Items don't determine a kill, skill does. And all the old vet's skill has decayed over time, so when they re-join UO they just assume the items are to blame when they die.

Trammel is not bad at all, its still the same UO. Felucca is still populated as well, obiviously not as much as before, but its far from dead. The essentials of the game are the same, just need a little adapting.

Anybody here who says that UO is an abomination and a totally different game hasn't given UO the time it deserves. Seriously? It's like WoW?

Frankly, I think you're a bunch of wining pansies. You think they ruined the game like no other? Let me tell you a little  story about SOE and how they RAPED Star Wars Galaxies. Now THAT was a change to a WoW format.

UO has NO correlation to WoW. Oh, you mean the PvP in trammel? SO WHAT? Play on Siege! Only Felucca there. So why are there complaints, then? Siege is still played and has a large player base. So why the complaints?

I play UO. I love it. Yes, the changes CHANGED things as that's the nature of the word. But if they never did anything new with the game, people would complain THEN. Be happy they gave us Siege.

I myself play on Pacific. Anybody looking to come back I will be happy to help out. Just shoot me a message. As for Nappa, sounds good, too. I wouldn't mind working on a new character (in UO, working on new characters is actually a really fun experience!).

In UO, you don't pick a class. How is that like WoW? You have TOTAL FREEDOM in your creation and how you design your character.

So stop being a noob and play the game that really is still the king of MMOs. And, let me tell you, UO listened when the players hailed "Long live the king!"

Been playing UO since beta in '97. Still love the game and enjoy it. Great depth.

Ea/Mythic is still investing in the game. It's a profit maker. It's still has life and will for the foreseeable future.

i cant believe im actually seriously considering coming back until DF launches in north america.

I came back about a year ago and had a blast, only reason  i left was to go play wow with friends which ended up being a short stint.
