Man I was hoping for more of some e-peen waving while at the same time saying "Me and my entire guild couldn't handle the monsters in the event"...

I love it when people brag about being the best of whatever, but when it comes down to it if they ever went against somebody who plays the same game except on a competitive level like MLG or Gamebattles they would be put to shame even by a the lowest ranked teams on the ladder.

It was a good event, its good to see something new and that it has some effect in the world, not only halloween candys and that stuff.

I realize that this quote is from way back but I have an answer to this.

The day before this event started I sent a "Recruit a Friend" 10-day code out to some one I know (well over 30) that I thought would  be interested in playing.  They activated an account and played around with a few of the races and logged off.  The next day they logged on and found the Human starting area filled with these zombie things and for some reason they kept being turned into a zombie as well.

It took me a bit but I was finally able to figure out that there was a level 27 running around there making sure to keep things going.  As a result it was not possible for them to finish any of the starter quests and I advised them to just log onto a different character for a bit, maybe the guy would get boored and go away.

They went to their Orc and found the same thing.  They also found the same thing with their Dwarf/Gnome and even their Night Elf.  They finally gave up for the day and decided to try again the next day.  Well, it was the same story again, in all the areas.  They decided to wait to log back in untill the event was over.

Now, sure it was only a week but if you take a week from ten days that leaves three days.  And a really bad impression.  The player never did buy any game time because he never got a real feel for the game.  The impression he got was that even on a non-PvP server it was easy to set things up so that a higher level allied player could kill you, or get you killed.

What did he want from the game?  The ability to play.  The ability to complet even the simple quests set up to get a player started.  To know that when he logged on he would be spending time playing not running back to his body from having been killed by a plague he has no hope of avoiding.  This is why so many people complained.
