With the upcomming expansion Blizzard upgrades his game to a higher level, or not?.....What do you think World of Warcraft online worth now after almost 4 years and with the upcomming release of the 2nd expansion in less then 2 weeks? And what do you think of the value for money (monthly fee) that Blizzard gives when you look at other MMORPG's like The Lord of the rings online? Fill in the Poll and Discuss it in this forum!

I've been in WoW since a little after release. I love it, I plan to continue to love it
I still play other games, I've even taken breaks, but I always end up right back in WoW.
I'm very excited and I'm looking forward to WOTLK. I have a feeling I'll still be in WoW for a very, very long time. It just keeps getting better IMO, adding the achievement system to the game has been a lot of fun. I can't wait to play with the Death Knight!
I do wish it were a little cheaper, but personally I think it's alright. Obviously, I've been paying it for years, now. However if it were the same price for LOTRO, I would never pay it. I worked with that game and played that game. I can't stand it. That's just me, though
I also paid for Saga of Ryzom a couple years back, before it went free. That is a beautiful game. I just really disliked the changes they made - it was perfect to me, then they pushed too hard.
In view of the crap that was being published these last 2 years (little exception to LOTRO), I think everyone on this planet agrees that WOW is worth every penny for the time you play it.
It can be 1 year, or 2 years or 4 years.
Everyone can stop as he pleases, but even asking this question is indeed an example of bad taste and an insult to Blizzard for making a game that lasted 4 years on the absolute top of the games selling lists and subscription numbers.
I guess the coming weeks we will see all those posts of all those Wow and Blizzard haters. All I can say is: I don't care if Wow killed your gaming populations. Let the best game be played most and the best game always gets the most subscription money from the people that like it.
I liked Wow for 2 years but then lotro released and gave lots of free content for the monthly fee (the free added content is more then the whole BC addon for Wow gave us....and Dx10!) and with the upcomming expansion the game will be double the size :P thats what called value for money. Don't understand me wrong but Blizzard doesn't do much for the monthly fees.....:S
You can moan about WoW's gameplay 'til the cows come home but there is no denying the amount of work and polish that has gone into the game. You don't get 11 million subs through sheer luck.
Regardless of what I say, Blizzard has three years of my cha-ching and probably at least three more. Although there are many great features, it would be nice to see more in the way of customization and graphics.

i agree with the few of you. with the crap that has been released wow has done very well, and offers alot for what you pay. I feel though they need to have a faste turnaround for expansions, but the free content updates they have released are really good. I think it does what it does very well, option to play casually, with option for hardcore gameplay, with ability to pve, or PVP or both. got alot of options.

Not at all Lotro needs lots more to come even close to Wow. Im just saying that that game does more for value. I like Wow above of all other MMo's :P Btw the game has 11 mil subscribers but they tell over the last 4 years. I have made 5 accounts but I don't play any of them. I think the real number of players that plays Wow now a days is around 6 mill which is a lot comparing to other MMo's :P

Im almost 100% sure the next expansion will contain the goblin head city (the vulcano one) since there is a little continent bellow azeroth since the WotlK beta update :P. And thats the excact location of where that city needs to be according to warcraft.....
I even played LoTRO at a discount (10 bucks a month) and still didnt feel like playing after the first month or so)........WoW is a much better game plain and simple.......The only problem I have with WoW is that I came to it from EQ1 which was a much more hardcore game (at least back then) so WoW always felt "too easy".......I appreciate the game for what it offers but Ive never been able to play it for more than 6 months at a time.....The end game raiding isnt all that thrilling to me, especially after I did it for 5 years in EQ1.......
Same. Blizzard's delivered a well polished and fun game. I'm hoping the rest of the market catches on; no, not in creating yet another fantasy themepark, but a well made MMO.

I struggled to understand what you were saying in with your poll, so I didn't vote. I assume you meant 10 is the highest, but perhaps you meant 1. Who knows.
However I think WoW gets better with age with one exception. They don't put out as much free content as they used to. Otherwise I really like the content the game offers. No other game offers as many options for players to pursue at such a high level of polish. The game just works overall where most other games just do 1 or 2 things decent.
LOTRO is a fine game and about the only quality release post WoW. However for me it plays just to much like WoW. I've already been there and done that and wasn't interested in doing it all over again. The stories in the game are great and the world is beautiful, great classes and customization. I have very little to complain about LOTRO, but it just didn't hook me. If I ever get completely burned out of WoW I will head on over, but right now there is not compelling reason to.

Hi guys this is mad 2 years ago i hated this game played war untill 3 weeks ago and now me and the wife are playing wow and loving it. BTW have ordered 2 CE of WOTLK :P

I think it is an okay game. I honestly believe it would be better if it wasn't quite so popular. A lot of the problems I have with WoW are related to the assinine "World Chat" topics you hear.
The other issue I have is the PVP is lackluster in my opinion. I think Blizzard's obsession with fear is just ridiculous and kills BG PVP for me. Fear should ALWAYS break when you get damaged.
For PVE though the game is hard to beat. I would say the only other current MMO that comes close is LOTRO and it only really comes close if you are a big Lord of the Rings fan IMHO.
My biggest problem with WoW though is that it gets kind of boring after playing it for awhile. There is only so many raids and so many dungeons that I can take doing over and over for gear.

Worst community, worst graphic, dynamic shadows end of 2008... Useless crafting. No influence on the world. incompetent GMs sending automated BS after hours refering to forums, massive AFKing (bot players for month) and unbalanced bgs (I've played like 150 Alteracs, we won 9 times because we are like 15/20 to 40 foes). Kids chatting rudely in SMS style, sex topics, off topic off topic off topic, permanent gold spamming, no GM intervening. Grind everywhere, reputation grind.
Old and boring quest system (kill X wolfs, go there, do that), no background story at all, no epic, no feeling of belonging to a world and changing it, no war between the 2 major factions, except in bgs that are skirmishes more than bgs actually, only Alterac feeling like real war objectives and reduced to a rush to kill end boss in 15 minutes without even encountering any foe player lots of time. Stale world (except a zombie event for how many time?). Greedy company merchandizing anything about WoW now, just check your supermarket, not granting even 4 year old customers ONE free char transfer.
Ludicrous over the top armours and weapons, cartoonish nickelodeon style, retarded 10 year old humor from devs sticking to politically correct. Very easy game, quests giving you 10000 XP, discovering any zone 1000 XP, etc, no sense of achievement levelling up your avatar. Bliz blatantly stealling ideas ("polishing" in fanbois terminology) from others like EQ, Warhammer, Lotro.
No guild system, only a chatroom and a guild bank, no guild house, no war betweens guilds, no guild taking a territory and gaining advantage, no guilds alliances...
Err, there are so many bad things in this game, I can't list them all, but you get the picture, World of Warcrap = piece of shit.
Gotta agree with this. I tried the pvp of wow and it just wasn't that great. I was just sad to see there was no guild versus guild. PVP servers are all about one group of level 70s ganking low level characters on either side. The crafting system is all kinds of messed up, the combat is all about gear and involves almost no skill. I mean most battles you only use 3 buttons, wth. In some of the pvp you have to use 4 maybe 5 buttons to get a kill. Otherwise you spend your time grinding for nothing. The quest rewards for the few quests that aren't boring as hell, end up granting the dumbest things. An example, I played a warrior, I did some of the quests and ended up getting a choice between cloth and leather armor. The patches are bad because apparently blizzard nerver bothers to play test anything.
I will vote, I am assuming 1 is the lowest, but really there should have been a zero.
I loved wow.. Until they started to spoon feed the Small Children.. World of BabySit Craft? Now I know only 2 of those Worlds apply.. but unfortunetly that special Middle one was heavily applied since PvP Content patch couple months before BC realease... Thats when Blizzard put on the Bib and got down and Dirty with the kiddys...

Mr. Wow is the bestselling MMORPG, the most played MMORPG of all time and you share a different opinion.
It's called RESPECT. But I guess you don't know the meaning of that word.

well it still does it better than the other mmos to be honest although thats not saying i dont like some of the others like warhammer and lord of the rings .
