I would have prepared by reading any of the new player guides that you can download from places like Battleclinic first, but hey , to each their own.  But do not skip the tutorial (in fact, consider running it thru twice)

This might not come out right, but please don’t take me as being a smart a$$.

But you have to decide that. There is nothing that is going to point you in a direction.

If you want to be the most feared pirate or space jockey, you have to pursue that or the best miner, the best diplomat, the best sales man.

Think about what you want to become, do some investigation on how to train your skills the most effective way possible.

If you're not sure what you'll see yourself doing (small group or solo combat, fleet combat, trading, mining, manufacturing etc) then I'd recommend balancing your starting stats, with Charisma perhaps being a bit lower than the other 4 stats.

What Kyleran said is correct, read everything. The official forums have a new pilots area that really helped me when I started...all of 2 months ago. Also, if you have questions, the Rookie chat channel usually has a lot of people willing to answer them.  Just ignore the D-bags and block the Isk sellers.

To block someone in chat, Right click on their name and select it from the menu.

    See, you're already a pro.
