The following statement by Mark Jacobs has surfaced over the weekend at the war alliance boards
Folks,
Let me make one thing clear from the contract: GOA's level and quality of support must equal or exceed Mythic support If they don't do that, the deal is off. Now, does that clear things up a bit? Also, for those that are saying that GOA failed to bring lots of customers to the game, that is total nonsense. At its peak, DAoC subscribers in Europe dwarfed all the competition. Our numbers there (which at the time was a far less robust market than it is today) were better than we expected them to be. If GOA had handled Italy and other territories from the beginning, our numbers would have been even higher. Again, I'm not saying that GOA was perfect, they weren't, Mythic wasn't perfect either. We both have learned a lot over the last 5 years and we expect to learn even more over the next two. We have contract language that assures that GOA's support and effort will not only be even better than last time but that it will have to be the equal or better than Mythic's support. If that isn't good enough for those that are complaining or worrying, than there is nothing more I or anyone can say that will change your mind. And when that happens, I will stop talking about it because it is pointless. Mark
That really puts things in a different light. They can legally ditch GOA before WAR EU goes down the drain, but the question is will they do it? You'd think with the resources available from EA that we could get a proper distributor here too.
"equal or exceed Mythic support" is where we got the infamous comment from IainC at GOA that: "equal is not the same as identical"
I had the US version downloaded but I still went with the EU version because I had a CE on order.
Hopefully when I come back from playing WotLK things will have improved.

AAAHAHAHAAAAAA.... man seriously..... rofl
I wonder what part they actually feel they're making up for the lack in all the other parts with, their magnificent website?
Whereas all the inadequacies of GOA are of major concern, the one that is the most pressing and has the most impact on the players, IMHO, is SERVER MERGERS.
As GOA drag their feet on this one issue, the game is haemorrhaging players at an alarming rate.
As I posted before, to make a successful MMO these days the producers have to create a game that is greater than the sum of its parts, how unfortunate for Mythic that they succeed in this arduous task only to be let down by a second rate vendor.
It is clear from all the points raised in the above post that GOA is simply not up to the task of managing this title in Europe.
I think Mythic should step in and assist GOA during this early stage of the game, and ensure that the established player base is not eroded to a point where it become a niche game requiring only one server! (ironically, I am sure GOA would do a great job managing one server).
I was sincerely hoping that server merges would start before the magical day of the 13/11/10, but this seems impossible now.
Oh well, there is nothing we as players can directly do to ensure success of WAR in Europe besides feeding back to Mythic the reasons why we are leaving the game.
"About a year before I stopped playing, a LOT of the italians had moved over to US servers, even the non-english speaking ones, because they hated the EU servers so much."
I remember that!! I used to play Mid/Igraine, the unofficial Middie Italian server in the US. This was before the population of Mid completely slid to third place and when Igraine still had a 'healthy' RvR population. I even had to dust the cobwebs in the corner of my mind where I put my Italian language skills. My Italian is pretty bad but somehow it always worked out when I grouped up with them. They were a friendly bunch and quite good players.
Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.

GOA support is crap and they fix bugs by making resets (altdorf bug)
BestSigEver :P
