when i played warhammer online during my free month , there was some things i noticed the majority of my time while going to the keeps in the rvr zones
it seemed like to me that the only time when rvr did take place it was scheduled , and that the times it wasnt, either no one was there guarding the keeps unless a warband took to long to take a keep or no one seemed to care and let the other side have it.
for the most part of my experience i would do a little of this and that to keep my intrest in the game going by doing pqs that rarely had people particaptating in them , and when ever the time i did particapate , i being the first one there healing everyone helping with what was need to be done and being last to get loot or never get loot to begin with or the weird and not right times is i just got there to the pq, and be able to get loot while people who were there before me did not get anything or wound up last, pq's were messed up like that.
the quest were simple enough , go to this location , do this and that for someone and come back, after doing enough quest you would finally get a quest that gave you decent gear, but the thing that got me is you did not know what npc quest giver would give you the items you needed unless you did enough quest for them to find out later on.
the scenarios were messed up, you que up for one certain type of scenario but never be able to get in while waiting for hours on end, but the ones that were popular , you got in automaticly. it felt like the scenarios are put in the game to help past the time while waiting for other things to happen. or for the people who got bored with certain parts of the game .
taking a keep and keeps in general in the rvr zones were a step back compared to that of daoc.
the guards would repop to soon and the only way to attack a keep was through the door alone. you could not scale up a keep like you could in daoc, you could not put holes into the walls like in daoc, and the things they add to war when it came to taking a keep seemed like it was put in at the last minute before they launched the game with guards rerouting back to their paths and wound up with full recovered hp.
i think they could of done a better job on the keeps.
and for the teir 1 and teir 2 rvr zones, why would there be a need for so many keeps or camps to fight over when there is clearly not a need for it to begin with with the lack of people that play in the rvr zones. as for the keeps them selfs , they looked nice but at the same time they shared the same pateren for keep design , high elf mirrored the same path to the keep lord as the dark elf keep would , or order, or chaos, or dwarf or green skin. i think they could of did a lot more to not only make the keeps on the outside look diffrent but the stairway and placement of siege pointer in uniqe locations instead of mirriored look, how ever, the look of the keeps them selfs from the out side was nice and better then that of daocs imo..
not much to grip about the classes, i felt that they were balenced, allthough the only complaints i have is that each class were a mirror of its counterpart for diffrent sides like , magus/enginger/sorcerer/bright wizard and had some sorta crowed controll abillty yet their were no support classes that would be primarly to have crowed controll like you see in other games, im not asking for a sorcerer from daoc or someone who could instantly root you or anything they want to, but it seemed like there wasnt any motive for them to be put in the game to begin with,
as for crafting, i would of like the posibillty to have more options on making different items in the game like armor and weapons and such but they stated they wernt going for that. oh well.
this game has a lot of potential to become a great mmo over the years with the lore and history and work that can be added to the game , only the subscriber base for this game will dictate the future that is known as warhammer, i hope the devs will listen to the subscribers more and the people who left then the ea people who only want to make a quick buck.
i give warhammer on a scale from 1 being not a game worth playing ,to 10 being the best thing since sliced bread a 5 out of 10
