and you're still left with the question....  does this look like a website that represents a AAA quality MMORPG that is launching in a few weeks and ready to support active accounts and subscribers?
If these people can't even put together a proper industry standard quality website weeks before a supposed commercial launch.. then how in gods name can anyone expect an actual functioning MMORPG to be launched?

Their website sucks big time and you have zillions of better made amateur websites on the net so I'm just puzzled that these guys can't/don't want (put anything you want here) a decent website. The trouble isn't the website per se but the minimal attraction a product is supposed to exert to gain players.

A nice website would be cheap and would serve as the best free advertisement for these guys, especially if they don't count on usual ads! As an equivalent from another humble company I'm thinking of the Chronicles of Spellborn's website, nothing revolutionary really but cute and purposeful, and it was revamped recently.

So come on "hardcore" fanbois don't serve me this shit "website doesn't matter, only game": do you think that hesitant players who don't spend their days looking at videos and overhyping the game on all forums will have a good image and trust Aventurine to make a good game (I am not saying they won't though) if their visit card is that shitty. And if they don't have the minimal resources/will to design a decent website, how the ignorant player who is wooed by so many other games will still think as a fanboi "oki their website sux but maybe their game is worth a try". It's a sad decision and bad move from Aventurine really, thinking how many efforts and years they put in a mmorpg but are incapable of having an ok site.

We agree that the site needs work. We don't agree that that is a reason to say the game is bad. EvilGargamel is trying to imply that a bad site means that the game will be bad. This is not true.

Summary of thread: website needs work, has no relation to the quality of the game.

Really the only way I could see this being a problem is if DF did not get the numbers it needs. However, considering that the community that is awaiting this game is steadily growing and has more than tripled in the last two and half months, it seems as though it is doing ok on that issue. Could a better site imporve upon this growth? Most likely. Is it 100% neccessary for the game to succeed? No.

I am a skeptical supporter of DF. I am not a fanboi nor a troll. I seek the truth in every discussion, and I am truly sorry if I mistakenly state a fallacy.

with you dude, I know both aren't basically related but it just gets me worried for them for the reasons I explained, I still hope the best for them and will try the game myself with a fresh optimism, and won't bitch if I'm not satisfied, because I kinda like their approach of things.

So if we dont sit around talking about how awesome this game will be we are trolls? This is a constructive post trying to get the devs to realize they need to change their website. Its been the same way for YEARS. There are not enough official news posted on it either.

As far as focusing on the game instead of the website, I have seen that comment 1000 times. If they slack on one part of the development cycle its a bad sign they could slack on other parts of the game.

Uh you must be new to these forums if you think OP had constructive intentions when he made this thread.

And its not so much that he is a known troll....it is also that the topic of this website has been debated numerous times in many threads, and did NOT need a new thread about it.

it's a bit better, not awesome.

avid darkfall fan here, and i agree their main website could use a giant overhaul.  i expect one either during public beta launch or game launch.
