I'm going to have to go for the soundtracks in Ragnarok Online.
I remember as I first started to play MMOs I started out with Project Entropia, concidering my computer back then was utter shit, I decided to give up on Entropia and start a game my step-brother wanted me to play aswell. Ragnarok Online.
After a long download, and installing I finally got to the login screen. Logged in, and created the character of my liking. I went through the tutorial and afterwards got to take the test where one would be advised which job one should take. I was advised to become a mage, and thus decided to follow that advice. By taking that advice one would land in the city of the chosen job. In my case I landed in Geffen, the city of Mages.
Now, the theme of Geffen was absolutely amazing. The people around there were amazing, and it was just so extremely busy it felt like one big family, it felt like home.
In my honest opinnion, this is a game that will always be the best to me. I honestly love Ragnarok Online, no matter how crapped up it is at the moment. Especially the soundtrack means a lot to me, and I listen to it often still. There's also some Remix albums out there, whom I have gotten too. They're equally amazing as the rest of the soundtracks. And I would honestly advice giving it a listen.
Second would be World of Warcraft, which would propably be self-explanatory.
http://www.directsong.com/ Soundtracks --> any of the Guild Wars tracks. Jeremy Soule did an amazing job on them, imo.
I do have to say Jeremy Soule is very good, if I remember correctly he did the theme for Morrowind and Oblivion which are both amazing, actually they are what prompted this thread for me

Guild Wars. The Faction theme is the best i have listened to in MMO or video games in general.
lineage2 is really way better than any other mmo, and iv played alot of them
and if im not mistaken they already won a prize for their music, was a news about it in their site while ago
enjoy : www.lineage2.com/pds/pds_music.html
my favorit is a dongeon song, that i cant find in the list, must have removed it, still battle themes are good, along with after storm
Guild Wars Eye of the North login screen music + other Guild Wars music is good also.
Everquest's loading theme... people who played it know what I mean
I'd recommend Age of Conan and Anarchy Online for the music.
I'd also recommend them for gameplay, but that's another discussion
I have to agree with the Everquest / Everquest 2 music, with World of Warcraft a close 2nd. Just good stuff there.
Crow T
Star Wars Galaxies has the best music of all MMOs cause its the only one that was a movie franchise everything else is just below it...
Beat this
I am not in beta, so no idea, if this game will be good or bad.
This trailer-music by a known lyricmetal-band is impressive though.
I think the Asians are winning with soundtracks.
There is soundTemp who does all the music in Ragnarok Online as well as some music in Granado Espada and Ragnarok Online 2.
Granado Espada has that dutch composer.
AION has some good composers on thier team as well, and the London Symphony.
Ragnarok Online 2 has the legendary composer Yoko Kanno.
So I think they win simply because they get well known world composers compared to that guy who works in our sound department.
Guildwars .....prophecies, factions, nightfall and eye of the north.

Best theme music would be EVE, but overall I would say Vanguard has a lot of very good in-game music.
The stuff from Earthrise is very good too.
I would say AoC. That music is just real nice.
Guild wars has also very good music.
