Well let me start by saying that I love the Warhammer Universe. I've played both Warhammer and Warhammer 40k tabletop miniature games, played all the PC games that have come out..even back to the Curse of the Horned Rat.....so I was excited about Warhammer online...
Two Reasons why I did not renew :
1> Game IMO is way to one-dimensional...really they could of done away with the whole world thing and just put a chat room where people "dropped" into PVP scenarios..would of accomplished the same thing that is happeneing in-game now.
2> The World seems empty..when I've played Everquest, WoW, LOTRO, CoH I always felt like I was part of a bigger world, a bigger environment happening around me...with WAR I always felt alone, except maybe the occasional other solo player running through the same Public Quest of me. The only time I ever really saw people were in the PVP Scenarios..and grinding those got old quick.
IMO they didn't do justice to the Warhammer Universe that Games Workshop has built...There was alot of potential here that I felt was squandered away. They are adding more classes soon...they need to add more ways for people to get together or consolidate servers instead of adding more classes..All that is going to do is further seperate the population that allready exists.

Sorry you didnt like. I have been playing and enjoying the game since launch. I hope you find a game you enjoy to play and the forums of a game you enjoy to play which you can post on.
If you weren't in Tier 4 in your first 30-40 days, you pretty much are SOL. It's pathetically empty elsewhere unless you bring your own guild group now. I have mustered a few groups together, but that was mostly in Tier 3, low T4, the "slow levellers" that started at release and are just now getting to low 30's, but not quite high enough for T4 O-RvR.
Here's what is going to be sad. When people are done levelling their mains, have finished their 1 or 2 alts, then what will the low level populations be? Completely nonexistant in pve, O-Rvr, and scenarios.

Hope you find a game that lives up to your expectations OP, or maybe you should become a mmorpg developer yourself. I'm sure you could make a game everyone would enjoy.
Were you born a sarcastic a-hole or was that the result of some specific influence?
Nah just fed up with all these "I quit heres my reason threads" Maybe they think mythic are reading these, I don't know why they think the WAR community would care otherwise.
This boards called warhammer discussion. I don't see much of it. Just trolling and whining.
No offense Mampii but, if the War community didn't care about these posts, theres wouldn't be so many posts such as yours actually replying to them when they get posted.
There was an old saying "Who is more foolish... A fool, or the man who ARGUES with the fool?"
All I can say Mampi is .. stop arguing. At least the OP is complaining about something. Youre complaining about his.. complaining. Makes you guys who do that sound 2X as silly sometimes.
"TO MICHAEL!"
For one - I totally agree with the original poster. I used to love MMORPG's, couldn't wait to get home and log on to EQ. WOW kept me entertained for years... even AOC was fun over the summer.
But this game... big disappointment. I should have known right from the character customization screen... and I wanted to like it soooooo much.
Mampi - These kinds of threads are exactly what MMORPG.com is good for. The OP is simply stating his opinion of the game. He is not flaming it, or calling for the sacrifice of all the developers, or shouting in glee as its stock tumbles to junk status. He, like me and many many others, are just really let down that such a cool IP ended up so watered down and vanilla.
Maybe you're right. I just want to say i'm not sure what these people were expecting when they started playing this game. I read the reviews and did a little beta testing at launch so I knew what to expect.
Unfortunatley a game can't cater to every person. Some people like lore, others PvE and some like PvP. I knew this was a PvP oriented game over a year ago. Alot of things in WAR are tried and tested and the things WAR has set out to do, it has done well.
I have to agree with high lighted statement though. I loved the scenarios, but it got old when all you see in chat 90% of the time is Looking for/starting up/any one have a Tier 1-4 Scenario going. I remember one pod cast where they stated that they did not want to make the Open RvR a game of tag...witch IMO from what i have seen has turned into. I do have high hopes for the game, heck I spent 2 1/2 years following it. OP Trolling-no,OP whining-no,OP stating what is happing in the game-Fact imo. to many people are seeing trend for OP to be trolling WAR. But hopefully with in the next few month things will settle down and even out. til im taking a little down time....
And threads like these can warn those people in advance instead of just reading happy, pinky threads on the forums and having to find out after they bought the game.
Yes Pheace.
Threads like these - Unfortunately 99 out of 100 posts on MMORPG is not as constructive as the OP's post here was. I'd say this is the first constructive post I've seen about WAR as to why this person does not enjoy WAR and while I do enjoy WAR I completely agree with him about his points. There is something lacking - The game is not perfect, but I always gives all games a chance to prove themselves over time.
I don't want WAR to die to be honest. I don't want any MMO's to die like many others here on MMORPG.com wants. I want them all to shine in their own way and have a chance to prosper over time. Thankfully only a small portion of the population of each MMO ever reads this websites forums so they don't get to see how many people are trying to do their game wrong.
I just hope people will stick to the games they like and accept that others like other games without trying to ditch them and their game.

I almost feel like asking where you're getting your "claims" from that "everyone is leaving", but I have a bad feeling you're one of those that will scream "XFIRE SAYS IT ALL!!!" so I won't really. I know the 3 servers I play on in EU is healthy enough to last throughout whatever happens. I'd wager and say 90% of the people who post on WAR forums here on MMORPG.com is people who quit the game where as the last 10% is people still playing it, and the simple reason for that is that the people who are playing it are sick and tired of reading and replying to retards who got nothing better to do than say how bad their game is. So all those that do enjoy WAR ain't posting here cause they know they will just get dirt thrown in their face.
It's sad really, but probably very close to the truth. Most sad is though that most trolls think the game is going even worse cause the only people posting here is indeed those that share their view. So in truth all that MMORPG.com is good for with it's current direction is for people who want to read posts about how bad Game X and Y is. Quite sad for a website of this multitude that they allow trolls to scare away those who actually would use the forums for constructive purposes.
Just my 2 cents.
I know how ya feel, I love the Warhammer universe and this game is a little flat and feels liek i am the only one playing some nights.
I really feel that the BG's are a problem in this game, everyone just runs them, exp is better in a Bg than in the overland game and its jsut so easy. Why cap keeps when you can just farm BG's. Thus everyone is in the BG's and nobody is doing PQ's or overland RvR.
I agree, I like the warhammer universe and the concepts in WHO are really appealing, and I feel there is alot of potential, despite this I saw myself logging less and less every night until I decided it wasnt "YET" the game for me to spend my next 6 or so months of gaming time.
First thing I felt it didnt work were the pairings, the fact that the pairings are running in paralel as you level made the world really empty, with everyone just spread accross too many leveling areas. Call it linear , theme parked or whatever you want but I feel that if they had driven the players accross pairings the outcome would have been better and more people would be playing together.
One other thing is the stiff character controls, WAR at the minute lacks the "instant" response from the controls, this is something I feel needs be taken care of urgently.
Last but not least, community, guilds just did not feel meaningfull enough sometimes it felt like people just randomly invited anyone that could provide a small increase in the guild ranking speed and most people did not actually feel like they were part of the guild but more like part of a PUG group, ofc this changes from guild to guild some guilds are really core from other games but im speaking on the guild that were just created in warhammer.
Those are the 3 main reasons I will not continue to play WAR, I still love the concept and I hope Mythic can take it in the right direction, but at the minute I found my fun elsewhere.
Agreed about the emptiness.....
It just feels empty, even though server pop is high. On medium, it seemed like a ghost-town. If there aren't people playing it makes the PQ's broken for the most part. I guess everyone just spam-replays scenarios to level.
I will be trying it out again in a few months I guess, to see if they have done anything to fix this, plus my other major issues with it (character animations, responsiveness of controls, customization, world rvr emptiness, etc). I hope they can fix it.

I dont think he was saying EVERY ONE is leaving, but a good amount of people are,for similar if not the same reason. 1) would be the Scenario crowding ,and IMO is why the worlds with medium and high pop seem so bare at times. IT IS A GOOD GAME. They need to make taking keeps appeiling again, Before the only way to get your Renown Rank 10+ Gear was at a keep now all you need is a guild that can access the viper pit, heck atm (again IMO) the PvE gear is better than the PvP gear.at least the PvE gear has Resistenaces on it. Any who im not going to go into any more of it, I do hope people come back to WAR,as I want to come back as well..but I dont want to sit around all day to just wait around to get into Scenarios.
Personally, I'm awaiting the day we invent a pill that can temporarily stop the speech and writing capabilities of a human being.
Then we distribute these pills to the whiners all over the world, and see what happens. If that fails, well we still have firearms! and bullets speak louder than words.

I can see your epitaph now, on the day you expire. It will read "Wasted Potential".

I haven't logged in for the past 4 days and I'm sitting here trying to talk myself into logging in tomorrow, like it's something I should do...

First off i don't really care what x-fire says. If every player was forced to use x-fire then i probably might. I'm not a troll thank you very much. The truth is that this week the 2nd billing cycle comes. I would bet 40% of the population will do like me and cancel.
Remember this game is published by EA. If they don't have 1 million subs by the end of the first quarter expect the game to shut down.
Make a difference!
Yes kill everyone that complains over something or have different opinions then yourself, such a great idea. It's a shame that it didn't work out in Afghanistan, but maybe next time it will!
Its good game,it will get better over time.. But there are some issues that need to be fixed...
- unite servers like.. 1 + 1 + 1 => 1
- make order "more atractive" (becouse on most servers - destro have more players)
- some classes need more love (aka balancing)
- I like PvP, but open RvR - still less xp and renow compared to scenarios
P.S. Joppari , thats becouse you think too much about SW:TOR (I do same thing) )

I get my data from a guild of over 30 dedicated DAOC players (not characters) I have played with for over 3 years who switched over to WAR. Of those 30, who were serious fans of WAR in closed beta, 10 still have open accounts and at best we get 4 people on every night.
You might say that is not representative of the population, but as far as I am concerned, it is. Why? Because other guilds that I know from DAOC that switched to WAR are reporting the same thing. What is worse is that from what I can gather from the WoW guilds is that they are quiting at even a higher rate. And I am talking dedicated pvp guilds from DAOC and WoW that just don't like a game that is supposed to cater to: dedicated rvr players in the endgame.
Something is failing in WAR. It is not living up to expectations, and regardless of the posts you see online, I don't think anyone really knows the answer. The worst news is that I don't believe the Devs at Mythic are any closer to an answer than the hundreds of trolls we see on forums.
For the record, I am still playing WAR. I wish the facts as I see them were not so, but they are.
I think I just figured out a design choice - I think.
So you get stat gear from RvR and Resistant gear from PvE..is that right? Trying to remember from in-game without actually looking.
I bet the idea was that you had to rvr for one type of armor and pve for the other, giving incentive to explore both aspects of the game.
They obviously need to tweek this if it were the idea, because it doesn't seem to be 'working as intended' if that was in fact the intent.
But a good concept, I'll give them that.
From my observations this week there has seemed to be a shift in the players to more balance between rvr, scenarios and pve/pq's - scenario's aren't popping every second, probably because I'm noticing more happening in the rvr areas - and in the scenario teams seem to be more organized at obtaining objectives - i think people are finally learning strategies instead of game mechanics. I finished 2 pq chapters in a row this morning (a monday), and not the same over and over, the warband moved to each of the different ones in a ch. We even did two extra to max 3 or 4 peoples influence. Afterwards, we went and took out a destr warband trying to take fangbreaka.
Some of this may be attributibed to those that tried, didn't like and left, leaving the core player base who have enjoyed the game and are excited about exploring the whole game and playing WAR. But to be honest, I feel that population has been stable for about 3 weeks or so and if anything, I'm seeing more people than after the first months exodus.
BUT.....1 players observations on 1 server over 1 weeks time doesn't constitute any kind of truth. Just my own personal experience.
Sadly, I agree with you. I haven't logged in over a week.
The game does feel empty.. but the warcamps are full.. with people standing and waiting for the scene to pop up.
