But for some reason the download link give me a .RAR file or some of the files in the .ExE( when i did find one) are corrupted upon install. I downloaded the damn thing 3 times( hours worth of Dloading) and still nothing.

just download winrar to extract a rar'd file shouldnt have any problems executing the install

All I did was download and double click the icon

 

Maybe if you could show a screen shot of the problem you are having?

while i was installing atlantica too, there were a lot of popups with error in files but i kept clicking skip (or was it okay.. whatever that button is that commands the installation to proceed) and i was able to install it.

It can be a download problem. A screenshot would really help us to assist you on this. In any case though, if you downloaded a rar  file, try to redownload only the part where it says error and try from there. This is if it tells you which rar is having error. what i did is downloaded the exe file and ran it and everything went fine. ^-^

Hmm I re-downloaded the .RaR file and used that tool that was mentioned to open it and it was working fine till i got to the Same Part.  CAB 3 or something is corrupt.

If this is a redownloaded one, there is a possibility that  the uploaded rar part of that cab might be damaged. If it tells you which .rar part is broken, redownload just that not the entire rars. In i recall it correctly i downloaded my copy from either gameborder of fileshack. You can also try the torrent full installer just don't forget to force re-check it after download just to ake sure. Hope everything works fine for you and will be able to install it.

Got it! 

 

I tried a couple things. First I tried a different site. Second (which is prolly the reason) I shut off my Firewall / Virus scan(Kaspersky) during the download. I don't like doing this really because it scans everything coming in and has saved my @ss before.  I do recall having to do this before.

At any rate I got it up and running. Pretty nice game, different , I like different. Turned based games have always turned me on, ever since X-Com UFO defense for the playstation 1.

me 2 i experience the same problem but i think you should download it again otherwise than waiting for nothing, or some of the files in that link is corrupted better download it at playatlantica.com or try to read installing instructions to install atlantica steps and procedures.

I've had  several people with this problem talk to me (my friends) and most commonly it's because the file doesn't finish downloading.  On large files like this game I would always recommend using a download manager like Flashget or FDM to make sure you get the entire download.  Silly Internet Explorer will just think the file is downloaded if there's any interuption to the download.  Also, I have no idea if this is true or not, but some of the download mirrors might not have the entire file or something.  I remember awhile back that I switched the download site and went to filefront and it worked just fine.
