so now in the update, and upcoming expansion next year of the game, EVE seems to have a big good move. Will those guys who quit come back to play?
I won't. i'm in a multigame clan and my corp in this game is a pvp oriented 0.0 corp.
It's not that I don't like the game or it's meat grinder pvp aspect, I just don't have that much time to put into a game, and you need to put a lot of time in to be a functional member of a 0.0 corp. Once a week won't cut it since it can take hours to get a ship to where you need to be (unless your corp has logistics and has them waiting for you) and often you get blown up on the way ROFL. A week can go by and you log in and find out you are 40 jumps from the fleet's current position.
Then if you play once a week it can take a month to get a new ship together. Rinse, wash, repeat.
This is NOT a casual mmo gamer's game unless you empire hug, which is pretty damn boring. It's more like Lineage or something with regard to time sucktitude and "hardcore" penalty.
IMHO there are much better mmos for casual mmo gamers. Ideally you want something with little or no death penalty for casual gaming. Eve has a hardcore death penalty
I have nothing against this, it' s just not my cup of tea any more so I've moved on... It was definitely a blast for a while.
I have to be honest, I was on an FFA pvp server for AoC launch, and after playing EvE I couldn't help but laugh at people bitching about getting ganked on the FFA servers. There was 0 death penalty and they were crying like 5yo girls that got their barbie taken away. What a joke... They'd last 10 minutes in eve
