lol It sounds like you are trying to convince youeself there. Say whatever you need to tell say to make yourself feel better!

Actually if you could see what I did there, I made that statement as an example of how one could have negative content on a game without being insulting to the playerbase.

What that should have read to make it more clear is "so there it is, I didn't bash anyone but made up a fictional statment that would be considered a judgement call, one that is negative".

    Now stop kissing my head.

No, I didnt see that. I see a person who is very driven to make sure he is so called "right" about a particular disscussion. For whatever reason, you really have a hard time accepting and dealing with someone else's opinions. And if they seem harsh to you, it is unaccpetable and not tolerated by any means. So you write some reply trying to use neutral wording to make yourself look good, feel better, or both. But what you really should do, not saying you must, is come to terms with accepting different varieties of comments, whether harsh or "candy-coated".

If any of my comments in this thread has offeneded you, personally, I am in no way trying to. I assure you, I have nothing against you. I replied to someone else's comment (it was not even you) with my point of view. Then you decided to jump in with your two cents, because you thought that I was not being so, "polite" or  for whatever reasons. I so far, have only replied with defenses of the remarks you keep dishing out directed to me. Which I  find that very impolite. But I guess that doesnt matter, because according to you, opinions from a person who may sound harsh sometimes, dont count. Does that prettty much cover it?

And that wasnt kissing your head. (You wish you could be so lucky) That emote was patting.

I have a hubby and he is the one that gets the kissies!

Lots of people thought that the market cap was hit with UO - then they thought it was hit with EQ...

I personally have no doubt that the industry could open up a lot more doors as soon as they kill some basic fundamentals that are entrenched in the current games.  But... after all of the recent failures... if even WoW starts to fall then I think that developers and investors in general are going to start giving up instead of trying something new.

That said, Blizzard has proven that they are always open to new ideas - the WoW of 4 years ago doesn't really resemble the WoW of today - who knows where the game will be in another 4 years?

The biggest problem with SWG at launch and into the first year was lack of content and real direction. I know we all found something to do, but a lot of new payers walked into SWG totally boggled as to what they should do. I loved it; to me it was more of a SIM style game of Star Wars. People these days want quests, they want to feel heroic. No reason they can't have both, but the budget to build such a game says otherwise.

Well it's two circles, who could tell what it was they were doing.

In any case, where I come from one doesn't dismiss a person in such a way because they have different tastes, no matter how one puts it. (meaning that's certainly not how i was raised).

I'm sorry if you think I"m attacking you but I am expressing my utter shock at the idea that people would be so dismissive in that sort of way.

But you know, you're right, not everyone expresses themselves in the way I would prefer or that would be more conducive to constructive dialogue, and I suppose "it is what it is". If you want to say such things in the manner you choose,  then that is your right as you break no rules doing so.

But don't be surprised if people challenge you on that as I think they should.

Thank you, I will keep that in mind. Growing up the way I did, I am use to being challenged and attacked. So encountering people in arguements, decyfering which is derogative  and which is innocent, can be a challenge in itself. I may come across sometime as tough or a "hard-cookie" but deep down inside, I am soft and chewy. (Shhh! Just dont tell anyone!)

Anyway, good luck on World of Warcraft and hope you have fun with the new WoTLK expansion!

You dont even have any good concrete explanation why to not support it.

You just think because it has 11, not 12 milion supporters its a game that needs to be destroyed?

Well, its the best selling and all that game in the world, and there is a reason for that.

I do,because Blizzard took and COPIED EVERQUEST to the TEE.So what if you do not like SOE that is your right, but support a company that can't think for themselves and copied the game that made ONLINE MMO's popular?pffft, they do not deserve any support and should be ridiculed until they make there own MMORPG .

How about logging an illegal program"WARDEN" onto everyone's hard drive?that transports information to and from YOUR PC to BLizzard. They can claim whatever reasons they want,IT IS invasion of your privacy as they can and WILL see everything on your desktop.IMO it is a sleezy way of lame marketing,to see what exactly people are doing by spying on you.Not to mention the fact ,your information CAN be intercepted and it has happened albeit not PROVED too often by hackers.

On one hand you have SOE who OPENLY tells the public everything they are doing and often causes arguements galore in the forums, often they are called liars. In Blizzards case thay have ADMITTED,they choose to tell there player base nothing, because the less they talk about ,there is nothing for the players to complain about.BLIZZARD is VERY SNEAKY in how they do business.Try reading what Blizzard calls "ACTUAL SUBSCRIBER",it looks like they are trying to include even your goldfish as a subscriber lol.

I am just glad there is only 2 million dummies willing to support Blizzard in NA,perhaps the reason so many asians are because they are all gold farmers.WOW is a HUGE RMT game.

That's funny since SOE's been copying Everquest to the TEE since 1999.  I don't see them ever getting anywhere near 10 million subscribers.

Why is everyone saying wait for darkfall? WAIT FOR GUILDWARS-2, IT'S THE *******ONLY****** and I stress, ONLY good mmorpg coming out in the NEAR future. Period. Darkfall will be a flop, great graphics doesn't make a game, WARHAMMER proved that, great graphics are just that. Great Graphics, but playability, the FEEL of the game while actually walking around exploring etc is completley different from the screenshots, WoW is the best mmorpg on the market, in my opinion but it's a monopoly and supporting it is kinda like supporting the wal-mart of mmorpgs and I can see why people would not want to support it, it's a super trendy game that I purposely avoided with all my heart until about 1 month ago when I finally cracked and for the first time ever bought the game, I bought it because WARhammer claimed it was superior, and I can't take such info without a fair analysis of it's direct competition so I played both games for a month only to find WoW was 100x funner for me, WAR has potential but the fact that the pvp instances give tons of XP forces nobody to want to pve, making a MASSIVE multiplayer orpg feel like a Mini multiplayer orpg, with a diablo-like feel, 30+ ppl per instance, gets old fast.

WoW is boring and there are just quests. i think DARKFALL will be good, or i'd suggest LOTRO.

    is lotro good though?

12 million users = 12 million reasons for game developers to continue feeding us theme park simplified grind based carrot on the stick abominations they today call MMO
If you go and buy WoTLK you are voting with your wallet for continuation of the trend that destroyed Sandbox , complex virtual worlds.

I just want to remind you of that.
Its up to us gamers to vote for a change now.

Excuse me, but what a joke.  Boycott a game because people are having fun playing it?  Hey if you don't like the game, don't play it.  Simple as that.  I don't play Wow myself anymore, but hats off to Blizzard for their continued success.  Far as I can see the only other decent fantasy MMO is Lotr.  All the others are stinking up the genre.

Sure I look forward to someone eventually breaking Wow's lockhold on the genre, but it won't be easy, no one seems to have the formula lately for challenging them.
