Blessing of life

I tried using my bewitching scroll to get some striped bats in bran castle. After having a party, we battle another set of bats. After the bats(the one belong to my party) got damaged, I tried healing them with blessing of life. But instead of getting healed, the some of the bats were killed and others were damaged. Anyone can explain why that happened?

All "evil type" monsters get damage from healing spell
and all the negative spells (i.e. Hex of darkness, Chaos Wind, Silence etc.) will heal them, instead.
It's just a feature of the game
If blessing of life is used in your opponent, yes it can really damage them. But what I mean is I used the blessing of life to the monster who belong to my party, instead of getting healed, he was damaged even more. I used the blessing of life in other monsters who partied with me before but it was okay. They were healed, this is only the first time I have encountered such.
Doesn't matter if you bewitched them or summoned them to assist mid-battle they are still dark creatures and blessing of heal damages dark creatures on your team or against your team. You could heal them with hex of darkness though. I think it is actually a nice feature as it keeps you on your toes and make the game have that much more depth.
Funniest thing ever is seeing a mob noble sacrifice and damage the miniboss in their group

I had a boss die on me due to seth's will on self once. Needless to say, I didn't get the kill and had to repeat killing him again. Kinda annoying, but curiously funny nonetheless.

blessing of life is very useful skill for the team but evenually you need to upgrade it. its good when you upgrade it into max level very effective.
yeah upgraded skills is very useful in latter part of the game, ytou must invest your gold in skillbooks!
i guess atlantica really has this evil type or undead type of monsters where they get damaged when you try to heal them. its a bit annoying because the bewitched monsters really eases my pain in battling other monsters.

thats right invest on skillbooks and growth vials so your men wont be pwned that easily on PvP and its a big help killing bosses on the game

another thing about bewitching monsters. If you are in a shadow dungeon with bewitched monsters and they die. Almost all infernal monsters will revive after 3 turns or more after they die. Just wait to search the last body of your enemy, until your dead bewitched groups have revived. Although you use up a little bit of time waiting for this to happen, I think the time saved in your next battle, since battle with a full bewitched group instead of a half-dead one, is worth the time spent.
