post WotLK: my server is a ghost town

Is this something that other people have noticed?  Never finding open groups, no one in citys or camps, scenarios taking 10x longer to pop...

Can someone write a letter to Mythic:  Put everone in one server please.  RvR would be a little more fun when theres some poeple around.  I always thought server populations should be higher for a PvP centric game anyway, and I was surprised to see how few people there were even when the WAR servers were maxed out (when you had to wait in queue to log in).  Now its getting really bad.

Anyone else think WAR RvR might be fun if they took the remaining scraps of players and put us all together?

25 servers are med/med or higher post wotlk.  What server are you playing on, as I have noticed no drop off on my server ?

  • MallarkyMallarky Member Posts: 73

I have noticed no difference since WotLK came out.  My servers pop is fine and there are always people doing stuff.  In the last 2 days I have done multiple PQs, a Gunbad raid, and some decent ORvR, so maybeits just your server?  Or maybe you play at odd hours?

Only if you're in Europe, which due to the crappy GOA has been a ghost town for a month. Otherwise, BS.

I do think they have too many servers, though. But I think all MMOs have too many servers. It is especially poiniant with WAR, however, since other players are needed to make the game work. They should've been more conservative and opened new servers when people whined. Rather than start shifting populations around when people started whining...

I'm on Sylvania, and it seems like the server seems busier lately.   In T3, the scenarios are popping every few minutes and I've done some decent oRvR the past few days.

Don't know what the OP is talking about.

I agree with JonMichael.  I'm on Monolith and tonight I was turning down T2 Scenarios that were popping every ten minutes because there was constant open world RvR going on.    I finally did a couple of Scenarios and when I got out RvR was still occuring.

The open world RvR XP improvements might be helping, actually gained a level in open world RvR and I've never done that before.

Transferring to a more populated server from Mordheim has made all the difference in the world playing this game.

Overhere in Europe things have turned out sad..

There is no real community feeling, I seriously could not find a good guild on the roleplay servers... I quit after the free month, like many many many others...

I don't know how empty teh servers are now, but there is no use playing an MMO without a healthy bunch of online friends...

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I have characters on Zhufbar and Worlds Edge Mountains in Europe and these servers are completely dead. To put that into context I walk through main cities during what should be peak times and don't see anyone, at camps where you'd normally expect other player activity there is nothing, and no matter where you go there are no open groups knocking about.

I also think there are too many servers atm in europe. You should try to start over at one of the servers with more ppl for now (maybe wait for the two new character classes available on monday).

In December you will be able to transfer your character from a low population server to a high population server, also new player will arive - there are 11.000.000+ potential customers not knowing they play the wrong game. ;)

There is no right or wrong -
There is only fun and boring.

Agree, specially in primetime, scenarios pop up in less than 10 seconds.  Tier 3 was a ghost town, just transfered to Sylvania. Then went to tier 4, the same thing. It seems that there are 2 options, or we solo or do scenarios.

I actually logged on to check out this site expecting to see the people wearing the billboard that read "THE END IS NEAR" lmao.  I wasn't disappointed.

I play on Volkmar and Ironfist.  Post WotLK  everything is business as usual.  I actually hear more "I sold my WoW account right before it realeased and got top dollar"  Apparently the masses are getting wise to blizzard changing the carrot on the treadmill and calling it "new and innovative"

Wow, what a kind response to a simple observation.  So I guess people are fine with the populations as they are now?

My server is Azazel.  My friends and I joined it initially for the simple reason that it was the first high/high core server on the server list.  That was about a week after launch.  Now I'm not sure what it is, low/low for the most.  I really do not see another toon unless a scenario pops, and I have a regular job so I can't play at odd hours.

I think Ill try rerolling one of the other servers mentioned.

My first character was in Zhufbar too. Sometimes I'd play a whole session without seeing anyone. I re-rolled on Karak Eight Pe and I'm finding it so much better.

Yes we all know if your server is dead it means game is dead. I am on Karak Eight Peaks and its busier than ever.So i guess my game is not dead.

I've got toons on Wolfenburg, one of the more populated servers, and it has become a ghost town  COMPARED to how it was BEFORE WotLK released.

To be honest, this game has become a shadow of what it was when it first released: I remember seeing more than one server at high/high and more than half with medium+; it's a good day now if you see ONE with a high population of either side and/or more than 3 medium ones.

The population, however, took it's biggest nosedive before WotLK had hit the shelves and it makes a lot of sense given that large drops in population have a sort of domino effect as the game can't be enjoyed without a lot of active people.

It's really a shame that WAR is giving AoC a run for it's money in terms of % subscribers lost after first month, because I think it's a decent game.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

im in T4 with my healer and the only way i can get myself to lvl him is if ii have many friends on i can laugh and play with.

I havent seen my hole guild on for the past 3 weeks.

Finding new friends in T4 has really proved to be challanging.

Hardly anyone has any intention in meeting new folks as they are well set within there guilds in T4

The pick up groups are rare and few.

Im a lvl 33 runepriest on Vortex. if you are on that server and have a guild with lots of folks that lvl im really bored and am looking for friends.

yesterday must have been a great day then, because as I already posted there were 25 servers at med/med or higher...But, nice try dude.  I honestly love people who come here and try to lie about the game to people who actually play the game.

The situations in the U.S. and EU are complete opposites of each other.

I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for a scenario to pop. The downside is, so many people are queing for scenarios that nobody is left to do PvE content so I wind up soloing that.

Moved from Sea of Malice to Monlith and what a difference.  RVR on most tiers. PQs and Scenarios firing off every minute.  Great people too.

    Waiting for the next thing

It's funny that the people saying the servers are fine are all using 'scenario pop times' as the proof.  This is exactly where Warhammer went wrong and it shows.   RvR lakes are ghosttowns and the only people left are sitting in base camps queueing for scenarios.  That is what the game has become.

It's funny that a WoW fanboy still feels the need to come and troll the WAR boards even after WoTLK is out.  What is WoTLK not providing enough entertainment?

    Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

hmm oddly enough Azazel (which is the server I play on too) is at med/Med at 10:23am (CST) on a Saturday morning.   Not exactly the high time for playing either.

There are currently (10:23am cst) 19 servers at medium for Destruction and 14 servers at medium for Order.

So no I don't think the servers are Ghost Towns.

But you are on a US server right? By some reason the game isn't doing so great in EU but good in US.

I don't think it all can be Goas fault either, maybe the game just fit americans better or something.

    WOTLK hit's EU hardest anyways.
