I'll be giving it a try. WHo knows...might be the next big "sleeper hit" of the MMO world.
I like the fact that it doesn't hold your hand, and actually requires some effort. I am sick of the newgen MMOs that basically play themselves.
I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"
This game has peeked my interest. I wasn't paying much attention to it hoping other game would be good but now that I am more interested in games that are different in what ever way, then I give tCoS a whirl. I find many of the Asian games are getting better then the used to be.
ya, a few of those oriental games are getting a bit of something good... but actually this one of tCoS is more like french or something...

90% of games can even be played with a little keystucker or the little pinguin who kneels and with their nose push a key lol...
The game is OK but nothing more .... and it will end up a Free to Play game without doubt. Also they have started a huge problem fo themselve with excluding the UK fro the EU. I've been in Beta and yeah I might have subbed , but not now or ever while the have this policy of Excluding the UK and IP blocking. I can see another AoC all over again ... when are these people going to learn not to be so arrogant and piss of a large portion of their potential customers even before its released. Beggars belief that they are so stupid too .
I played OB, this game was great, not just OK. It seems you put it down more than it deserves due to the isolation of UK players.
Adapt, don't cry, only kids resort to such a behaviour. And by adapting I mean you can just go around the IP block.
Lol steady on there kid, what happens if we get around the IP Block to find that they only accept certain billing addresses when we try to sub up. I'd say TIMESINK. Also as we are not legitimately meant to be on those servers - we are not exactly entitled to fair or legitimate service. (as in we could be kicked with no warning - or ignored if we sent a ticket and they look at our account info etc etc).
Infact the sheer greed of the publishers to have carved up the EU this way really wouldnt suprise me if they let the undesirables sub up on thier servers for a month or two and then kick them in the hope that they would then be forced to buy another copy of the game and go to another publisher. The potential for exploitation here is massive.
Adapt, don't cry - seriously? so the fault and solution here lies with the gamers and fans of Spellborn, and by being stoic and stupid all will be fine? Riiight.
Basically this is being implemented by the several different publishers, and is putting restrictions on who we can play with.
The worst affected are the many EU guilds and friends (family in some cases) who have members on different sides of the IP blocks, whom will never be able to play the game together. Think of it as the Berlin Wall ^^

Well if your happy to have to adapt for something that you'll be paying for more fool you
And yeah I played Beta too and IMO its an OK game ok ? Or do I have to think its great just because you say so ?
Originally posted by Thatim People like you really don't have anything better to do, don't you? I mean, in the 1.5 year I have been following this game, I never saw you posting, but now acclaim might be giving the EU a IP block, you are all over the forums, trolling. How is it trolling? I consider it warning people before they buy something they might not even be able to play with their friends. Acclaim IS IP blocking, so are the other publishers. UK and US can ONLY play with each other. The other EU countries can not play with UK or US. Also, the other EU countries not listed in the recent announcement on the official website will NOT even be able to play the game. News flash, Frogster might not be IP blocking, which leads in.. oh yea UK players be playing on the EU server. I agree with you if there comes really a IP block, but at this time, it isn't a fact yet. Sorry you are wrong. Frogster is not IP blocking Mindscape, but they are IP blocking Acclaim. So that means UK can not play on EU servers. I realize you might have posted this before the announcement, but it needs to be clarified anyway. Also, don't blame the devs for it. It is Acclaim who is doing it. The devs have shown alot of competence, only Acclaim fails. I find it funny that people keep saying this like it's a valid defense. Of course the developers knew that the different publishers they were going with were going to IP block. It would HAVE to be in the contract that the developers signed with Mindscape, Frogster, and Acclaim. You can't go into a binding contract with a certain amount of terms listed and the suddenly go. "Oh by the way, we are going to be doing this thing that you didn't agree on." It doesn't work that way, and the developers would have every right to sue the publisher and back out of the contract at that point. The fact is. Spellborn agreed to the terms. They agreed to the IP blocking. This is what the company WANTS for their game. And so do you. Maybe you should get all of the facts on a subject before you make yourself look like a jerk by posting a comment like this.

I am going to plead ignorance here and ask that someone explain what all this 'IP Blocking' nonsense is about. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the review.
I've never been sure about SB, but now I can saftley say, after your extensive review, that I wont be touching it.
Thanks for the warning.

@op bad behaviour, post your own articles, or short excerpts with links but copy/paste an entire article from Eurogamer is wrong.
