The simple answer to all these threads is
"If you dont like the game then move on"
There are over 39 released games listed on the left hand side of this site and a few more to boot, on the games drop down box.
If you dont like WAR go and try one of the others listed.

Ok you were expecting big things and were disappointed, so what, get over it, it is your own fault building up your expectations.
WAR has not been out very long and needs tweaking etc, just like any other MMO released. If you dont know this then you know nothing about MMOS.

To you think we really want to hear why "you" as an individual do not like the game?
WAR is what it is and if you dont like then tough, I wish you luck in find the ultimate MMO, i doubt you will ever find it, but good luck anyways.

    Alright, enough of this.

You like the game so you post about why you like and discuss the aspects of the game yes?

So why can't someone who doesn't like it post why they don't and discuss the aspects of the game?

There are two sides to every story. I don't know about you but when I research something I try to find the Pros/Cons of it, and not just the Pros. If someone feels that it is repetitive, they should post it. Because if Johnny wants to get WAR, but doesn't like [mechanic] because it is repetitive, he would read that post, and then know it is not for him.

Not every MMO is for everyone, just because someone doesn't like your current doesn't mean that they are wrong and should be shunned from existence.

You draw your own conclusions from what you read and if a game has a lot of negative press, then it is quite obvious that you should avoid it. This forum is the main reason I personally did not try WAR.

Well more fool you for listening to trolls on this forum to extent that you did not even try it ROFL!

You allow someone's impression of the game dictate what you do, that is sad. Do you not know what the majority of posters are like on these forums?

As to your comment about being immune from negative comments, ofc it is not, but the continous posts by narrow minded people, saying things like i am bored doing Scenario's over and over again, when they have choice not to do so are not negative comments about the game but negative comments about themselves!

Yes, but some player comments, both negative and positive are actually quite informative. If someone said they didn't like a game for this reason or that reason, it may be similar to what another person might not like it for. I personally was stoked for WARs release, a firm believer in Mythic because of how much I loved DAoC. Unfortunately, WAR was not DAoC 2 and in all actuality, wasn't even close. I'm not saying WAR is a bad game, just not up to par in terms of DAoC standards for RvR. This is of course my opinion. It just happens to be negative.

People like the OP often times thinks that negative posts from people are trolls who havent played the game. This is very saddening, there are people who legitimately played the game and give credible arguments and opinions as to why its not a game for them, but the fanbois are so blind that they just assume people are trolls for not liking the game.

If you notice, lately many of the troll posts go by with no replies and that's a good thing.  If the posts are ignored, they'll get bored and head to another game to trash.
I've stopped replying to them myself and spend time looking for positive information about the game instead of getting angry about people posting things that are completely untrue.
You have to feel sorry for these people.  Instead of moving on to a game they like and being positive, they'd rather spend their time trash talking games that are successful that they don't want to be.
What a sad, sad life they have. ;)

Its human, and I feel its justified when I payed for something to have a fews words in a discussion. Thats why opinion is free, everyone can have one and say it. I dont see where the problem is. You know, I am damn sure there are a lot more ranter who PLAY the games they criticise than there are blind fanbois who do!
The ranter usually is the disappointed lover, the ex. If we rant about games, it because we want them to become better, and I just feel MMOs can be a LOT better than what we got so far, so there is still a lot work to do and a lot to critizise. Sometimes its rational, sometimes a personal critique. I can understand that baseless moaning or personal attacs lead to nothing, but the process of improvement leads through critique, thats how things someday can get better. The only problem is, that its a very one-sided process usually, since Devs just dont listen and fall into endless litanis of justification.
Its a bit like in the cold war: they build the walls of fanboism higher and thicker and we have to attack them with a larger and stronger ram, and so it goes on. There are only two things you can do, get popcorn and enjoy the show or stay back and pray for better times.

Very mature post Elikal, as always. :)

However (I know I use this word a lot) there is a difference between being objectively critical of a game (like I am of EVE for example) and simply making up or overblowing your points in order to make your point (and therefore yourself) superior.

    Here's my EVE criticism:

Me: I love combat in EVE and PvP in general but those death penalties are too harsh.

EVE "fanboi": But you can get into a guild! They'll pay your repairs and ships and all!

Me: Sorry, but I really don't dig excessive guild play. I'm a casual, got RL responsibilites etc.. It's a pity I won't get to enjoy the game's finer moments but it really isn't for me.

See? I'm not making up crap here just to justify emotionally why some game isn't my thing. 80% of all the negative posters here would say "ZOMG EVE death penalties iz crap! The game is crap! All the people playing it and not seeing that it's crap are retards because I am the measure of all things forever and ever!".... and then they'll go on and invent and overblow BS how EVE is... dunno.. they'll invent something. It is a basic psychological compensation thing. People take games too seriously and invest too much ego in them, that's sure. These boards have deteriorated to the level of football fan shouting matches.

"there is a difference between being objectively critical of a game (like I am of EVE for example) and simply making up or overblowing your points"

alot of what is said by people who hate this game is simply not true.  Most of the people making up lies about WAR do not even play the game, nor have they ever.  They dont want WAR to succeed and will post negative lies and misinformation with their abundance of free time.

Nice post, but lets not blame the players for the outcome by assuming to know what everyones expectations were.  Saying things like this generalizes anyone with a complaint in an attempt to invalidate them.

I enjoy reading your posts Vulture, but I don't see any justification in blaming the players.  I'm sure there are plenty of people who were not banking high hopes on this game and just wanted something to kick around for fun and it didn't deliver that.  There is a long list of problems in the game that can easily turn people away despite their expectations.  Most of the problems can be fixed, but they certainly contributed to peoples experiences regardless of their expectations.

Your whole post smells of "go away quietly, we only want to hear from the fans of the game".

Negative comments are one thing...Bringing out same negative comments in a whole new thread 7 times a week like a broken record is not.

This happens in every highly discussed forum on this site. WAR is not the first and certainly won't be the last.

    AoC prelaunch?  Post launch....

And Im a DF fanboy so you can only imagine what goes on in that forum.
