of course it is...just wait until about 4 months into the xpac they decide to give up trying to fix the flaws/bugs and spend the next 10 months devoting all of their time for the NEXT overpriced xpac, which people will stil pay for sadly, while they continue to play an unbalanced (can u say BC rogue?) grindfest
So i gave WotLK a try... even though i said to myself my WoW days are over.

Like, really, have they lost their innovation or something? The only aspect I like about the xpac is inscription.
I totally agree with you. This is what happens when you make a ton of money, you ignore the customer and because you know your dealing with mindless sheep, you know they will continue to pay.baaaah baaah baaaah..
..I told people I knew months ahead that wotlk was going to flop just like TBC and I sure was right..just read the forums...reminds me of the forums for AOC....These WOW fanbois will hold on to this bologna that there is 12 million subs, just because someone told them there was or just because xfire tells them...lmao I find it laughable...reminds me of sheep... baaaah baaaaah baaaaah...They will sit around and wait another 3 years for another useless $40 or $50 expansion.
Hell I was in Best Buy yesterday and there was a table sitting near the front entrance piled up with about 50 copies of wotlk, I laughed and I walked back to check out Rock Band 2 and low and behold theres an entire end shelf filled with more copies of wotlk. I saw the same thing over at Gamestop....For a game that got so much hype there seems to be a lot of copies collecting dust as we speak....

PMSL!!!
In the UK alone it has been probably the biggest game launch ever for any game, let alone an expansion.
It hadn't of course occured to you that the reason it is taking up so much shelf space was that it is selling out so many copies compared to anything else in store??? See, in retail, when you have something that is selling in huge numbers you tend to put it in plain view in large displays so people know they can get it from you or are taken on impulse. Add to that the amount of people that are now investing in the original and BC and will buy Wrath later down the line too. Then of course you have all of those that pre ordered online too (not forgetting the special edition selling out within days of announcement).
On a final note, what the hell do you care if the game lives or dies when you don't like it anyway, just let the rest of us get on with it and go play something you do enjoy then maybe you would have less time on your hands to troll that sort of drivel.
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

People usually call me a Troll when they have nothing logical to say, but I expect that... Anyways its not like I am lying about it...For a game to be so hyped up...I just thought there sure was alot of copies of wotlk in many of the stores I have been in since release....
As far as why do I care..well thats probably because when people who ooogle over wow bash and trash other game forums and every time a game is set for release, here comes the WOW fanbois out the woodworks to trash people, developers and a company...but thats ok!!! right? it's just not OK to tell others how crummy WOW is or to agree with others....
If WOW was such a godly game and so packed with subs, then why the need to come bash other game forums.....unless your worried.....
I agreed with the OP so that makes me a troll.....is that so wrong to agree?..I stated a fact..I saw lots of copies of wotlk sitting in Best Buy and a few other stores....If people don't like what I or others have to say then all they simply have to do is ignore us..don't respond to us....I think WOW is dead..others don't...the game is suppose to have 12 million + subs...nothing to worry about......right?...
WoW is WoW. WoW will always be WoW. If you enjoy WoW, then an expansion, which is by definition the "Same old ****" is going to be more the "same old ****" which you enjoy, which is a good thing. if you do not enjoy WoW then an expansion is going to be more of the "same old ****" which you don't enjoy.
WoW's strength is that it does what it does, does it well, and doesn't prentend to do anything else. It is what is, and gamers either enjoy that or not.
And of course Blizzard realizes WoW has been around for a while and they something new and fresh. You think it's just coincidence they unvieled Starcraft II and Diablo III the same year they unvieled WoW's second expansion? As other's have said, new games are the opurtunity for innovation. Expanding WoW is about providing new, but not fundementally diffrent, content for people that enjoy WoW.
Obviously, the OP was done with WoW well before WoTLK, and I don't think there was any to hope that WoTLK was going to change that. Clearly the OP is happier being over WoW than playing WoW. So I don't see the problem.

....and your exactly right. I'm not wrried about a thing!
Of course its the same. Another 10 levels of the same old grind. Did you think they would change a formula that has kept, so they say, 10 million plus paying the monthly fee? As long as subs keep paying money and homage to the phenom it will remain the same. They are after all in it for the bucks.

Well a pity to all. But the press doesn't agree with you all. "Northrend swaps madness for lyricism, spectacle for heart-wrenching, melancholy beauty. Its vast zones have been sculpted with infinite care around the non-linear flowering of the quest lines. They have tremendous variation and density of detail, stunning vistas everywhere you look, impressive architecture, and an eerie, haunting quality that will be familiar to anyone who's visited our own far North, be it Iceland, Siberia or the Canadian Rockies. Even the skies, lit with shifting veils of aurora, are enough to make your hair stand on end (assisted by the atmospheric musical score). It is classic fantasy. " 10 out of 10 for Eurogamer and http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=978693 So conclusion is: the world apparently doesn't agree with some marginal nerds. We knew this already because the only rating system is the paid subscription rating system. But it's good to see actual professional writers contradict some MMORPG.COM "game hating" nerds.
This has got to be the most ignorant post I have read in awhile. Game Hating Nerds? Really? You do know what a nerd is right? Your a nerd for one, your on a gaming forum. Secondly, when did two game sites mean the whole world. Especially Eurogamer, god I hate them. They would rate Hello Kitty Online 10 out of 10 if they gave them free beta keys. I rate the game 7/10. Am i the whole world? I work for company that has clout. Bah, im done here. Just quit being ignorant. We are all nerds. If we weren't, we wouldn't be on these boards clamming about WoW and the xpac.
We should ease up on Woody... I'm sure he right and the fact that the Navy Exchange on the base I work at has 3 full wracks of nothing but WoW products, out of 5 total wracks of PC games means the game is clearly a flop.

You and I have different ideas about whats a failure and whats not. Wrath has already broken many records for PC game sales, just like BC did. Call me crazy, but I'd consider them both to have been massive successes.
As for trolls, WoW has more than its fair share of trolls and haters. Its actually worse than other games imo because of how successful WoW is. You only see the WoW fanboys brow beating other games because thats what you want to see. Theres many more people like you hating on WoW than there are pro-WoW people hating on other games.

Why would Blizz be innovative? They are sitting on a gold mine. Why would they even try to do something different? Their players are happy with this easy mode-grinding fest, the publisher is happy with the sales. Everyone is happy. No need for innovation.

Blizzard could poop in a box and WOWboys would buy since they have released quality to this point. WotLK was the turning point for WOW they have released the equivilent of a free patch and you paid for it.
By all means keep supporting them and enjoy that your money will go less further each Xpac. Nobody cleared SSC or TK in 3 days and BC didnt bring back old dungeons like WotLK did to keep it cheap and easy.
Blizz send me a PM ill make dungeons for ya all day. Slave pens with orcs there is one, UBRS with level 80 NPC's there is another ill be here all week send me a PM ill do em for free takes me 10 sec a dungeon.
Bonus content- Kara with naga's and orc's man I am awesome. (25 man version still in beta as raising HP bars is hard work)
New Profession- (insert rival games idea here any will do)
PVP- (steal idea from other game and insert here)
The next Xpac patch notes above.
Playing- Guild Wars 2, SWTOR SWTOR Referral Link Get a free Server Transfer and lots of other free stuff for your SWTOR account! Works for both new and previous players.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
Why would Blizz be innovative? They are sitting on a gold mine. Why would they even try to do something different? Their players are happy with this easy mode-grinding fest, the publisher is happy with the sales. Everyone is happy. No need for innovation.
You get what you deserve.

Osbourne Cox: I know very well what you represent. You represent the idiocy of today.
Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.
Osbourne Cox: You are part of a league of morons. Oh, yes. You see you're one of the morons I've been fighting my whole life. But guess what. Today, I win.
