What SW:TOR means to me as an MMO gamer.

For a long time alot of us who have been playing MMO's have been waiting for our favorite TV series, Movies, Comics, Books, whatever to be turned into vast open worlds we can explore. When SWG was first introduced I loved Star Wars (I still refuse to take the Prequel triology as canon) and when the game failed (Not just because of the NGE guys) I lost all hope and thought "I will never again see an MMO with Star Wars in the title ever again. Long story short TOR was anounced and it gave me hope at living in the world of Star Wars once again. Although I believe the game is lacking as of right now it still has potential, but I doubt I will play it for more than a casual month because of its linear roots.

To the point of what this all means to me as an MMO Gamer!

What this all means to me is that there is more than one incarnation of our favorite IP's out there ready to be made. Just because Age of Conan did poorly does not mean the same (or similar IP) can not be made into a game again. Who knows maybe the next LOTRO or Conan will be a Sandbox with full loot pvp. The Possibilites are endless as long as their is a fanbase and a market for the IP's.

This game will fail to, unless you want a game that is mostly copyed from eq wow and with already zillions of themeparks out there it will bring nothing new only starwars name and brainless themepark again
