So yeah, IDK why i'm posting this but thought it could be an interesting read and maybe informative. I've played on Bismarck for a few years now and today decided to start new. But, instead of packing my bags, i made a new taru on Pandamonium. My Character on Bismarck has 2 (almost 3) jobs at 75, I'm a Hume out of Bastok and i never go to Windurst except in the past. So I thought "Why not make a Taru from Windy and start at level 1". So I did.
The first thing i did ofcourse is contact WSIMike who is about as nuts in game as he is on here lol. I then proceeded to go outside (as a Warrior) and kill my first creature. I felt the rush of the first kill. The Mandy's sweet nectarus blood running down my sword. I flash back to my first kill ever and the excitement came rushing back. While I was still on this high i spot my next victim. Another Mandy that I was going to send as company to the first one. I was raging! I was swinging! I WAS SHOWING HIM WHAT I WAS MADE OF!
I was then dead. You see, Level 1 Tarutaru's should slow their roll just a bit. A bitter lesson i learned early. So WSIMike runs to windy, chats with me for a bit and gives me a pearl to an LS that was probably thinking "Oh crap, not another one". I wound up actually not dying again (i did call for help on a rabbit but still not sure who would have won that fight. However, i'll assume for now i would have). I only got to level 5 so far but I definately plan on showing the Bunnies and Onions who the boss is. And i don't mean Tony Danza.

Heheh seriously though..
Was cool for ya to come by and to chat with ya in-game. Funny how "different" it is chatting in-game with another player, as opposed to in a message forum like this.
Anyways... like I said in-game.. come on back any time. Be cool to have ya around

More power to you. I have tryed to make a new character on another server a few times. It has never been the same for me as it was back in the day. Hell ... with Icon it took me 3 days to kill my first mob. You can't recreate my first days unfortunately.

Icon's first day in game:
"Oh hey this looks so neat being a Hume Black Mage in Bastok. I wonder why they call this zone Bastok Mines. Oh look there is a cave over there, that must be the mines"
"Oh hey look two people in the mine. What do you mean mr oversized teddy bear? You mean that guy won't let you though that gate? I'll go talk to him. Wait, mr gate person, you will let me in? All Right! sucker teddybear"
"Nice bridge they have over here ... and the tunnle goes deeper. Time to explore /flex"
"Oh another area down here. .. :-O A BAT! ... it is so dead. Let me use this Stone Scroll on it. What? Nothing? I learned Stone? WTF? Okay I guess i'll just attack it. Mr. Staff meet Mr. Bat.

And yeah when the game started you didn't see Hume Black Mages I think I was only the second on Asura to hit 75. It was either me or waffles. There is just something about how much time and effort I put into Icon that I can't fathom doing it all over again. It is the good part and the downfall of ffxi ... the job system.
