I just realized that mmo's seem to work against themselves...

They were designed to get players into groups. But....

Players always need to split up to:

1.Get their latest gear.

2.Get more potions.

3.Get the latest skills from the trainer.

4.Repair their gear.

5.Finish and old quest

And on and on... Thoughts?

not true to all mmorpgs.  I've played in a group for over 12 hours in FFXI without leaving for training (since there is none) or anything else.  over that 12 hours only 1 person had to be replaced, because he had to leave.  If you want a game where you can find a group and stick with them the entire day, FFXI is a good choice

killing stuff of course.  It was with a bunch of friends from my linkshell, so it was casual leveling with some chitchat in there, and the occasional dead taru

Most games work in such a fashion. The only way it could work otherwise is to provide player classes with talents to appease those requirements, and then of course players who actually enjoy playing those classes. Most games have civilizations/cities close enough together to make it impractical to take a tradesman along in a group.
