Reaver Classic Molvic FLEX.or SLASH ?

Most agree FLEX weapon training is the way to go for a CLASSIC MOLVIK REAVER.. However I have heard some use a flex weapon...and some use a slash weapon with their flex weapon training. Can a reaver guru jump in and help me understand what might be the best way to go..and why ?

Well im no expert since I haven't played the game in a long time, but a reaver was my main so figure id throw this in:
One of the reavers greatest strengths I thought were its spells, and certain utilities with some of the combat styles, the lifetap style in particular with Flex saved my ass (and owned the living hell) several times back in the day, and the proc's aren't mitigated by armor, but spell resistance, which were also awesome.
Slash if I recall had fantastic, if not the best, anytime use styles that hit hard and conserved endurance well eventually.
If I had to choose, I would always stick with flex because of the unique styles and procs, and also your able to switch between crushing and slashing damage types effectively.
