Everyone here has a "Main" MMO that they spend most of their gaming time on (if not all of it).
My question is, do you have a "back-up" game that you keep active just in case your current game pisses you off or the devs of your game pull a "revamp" and chase you away?
I play WoW, however, I have my LOTRO subscription active "just in case".
I never used to have this mentality until I went through the SWG NGE debacle.
Anyone else??

atm im playing nothing, but a month ago my main game was Lineage2 and i had WoW as a backup.
I also went through the SWG NGE fiasco ..... not sure if it influenced my decision to get a backup game.

i have over 30 games installed on this machine.
sometimes i need the adrenaline of UNREAL or flatout ultimate carnage.
other times i feel fallout 3 or even gothic 3 are more the right speed.
long and short of it is i have alot of games titan quest for example that have been there a long time that i kind of "whittle" on.
i play 15+ hours a day, though rarely on 1 game. i think wow is the online version of toilet paper so that isnt 1 of the games, but i have all SOE games installed and most NC soft games, 2 turbine games, about 10 indies, 5 betas (this week), and a wide range of other not counting full libraries of all emulators upto dreamcast +MAME.
its like hunter s thompson said about drug collections...except with games instead.
I play a pserver of my first mmorpg when there is nothing else to play. Like now I have not one mmorpg worth playing as I get bored of them too easily.
If anyone knows any games that look similar to; Legend of Mir/Myth of Soma

Please inform me I guess it's 'similar' to diablo and I'm in dire need of a new fix to a game like this while I wait for D3

I casually play CoX at the moment. There's nothing impressive or interesting about the game but it has a decent sized subscriber base and it isn't fantasy.
That being said, I guess Guild Wars is my fallback even though I always get bored to tears with it after just a few weeks. Plus the character customization blows.
Really though, I'm just killing time until the Earthrise beta later this year.
CoH is my backup game.
No regular game...let alone a back up.
Don't play anything at the moment and and haven't touched an mmo in over 4-5 months. I never had multipler subscriptions to mmos. I usually play one untill I no longer have any interest then cancel, open another and play it till the fun "dries up" and then move again.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
For, honestly. Atlantica Online. Im in no way a fan of asian game, but this free-to-play rts/mmo with pretty much everything player-driven, including economy and pvp, hasn't bored me yet. I decided to restart on their Argos (newest server) because its a fresher population.
My backup is Requiem Online. Unfortunetly I don't have a main cause games are getting boring now. So Requiem is kind of my main although I play it casually.
warcraft is my main- seriously considering lord of the rings life time sub because it simply is a great game world pve wise and possibly warhammer as one i ll play now and again.
After trying a lot of MMORPGs, for me, WoW and LOTRO are all I need in the MMORPG department.
1 MMORPG is probably enough really but, yeh, it's nice to have another ready-to-hand. The only other MMORPG that keeps calling out to me is EQ2 but having 3, I think, would be spreading things too thin.
The trouble with having 2 really good, addictive MMORPGs installed is that it's hard to find time to play other game types. I have Oblivion, Fallout 3, EQ2, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Test Drive Unlimited, Red Alert 3, Command & Conquer 3, Battle For Middle Earth 2, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - all screaming out to be played but I just can't tear myself away from those 2 good ol MMORPGs.
Although I try not to do it but at one point I was playing EQ2 and had WoW as a backup. Now, I'm playing WoW and have LOTRO as back up. Once I reach 80 in WoW , I'll switch things around and put WoW on back up.
