Spellborn uses a program called gameguard (same as Maple story and others) and this seems to be a problem for some Vista users.
My friends computers van't run it, it get's error 114 all the the and can't start the client. He have updated all drivers of course.
Anyone have a fix? Googled for it, found others with the problem in other GG games but not any fix that worked. Help anyone?

I'm not quite sure, but the major reason Vista doesn't like to play nice with Game Guard is because it registers it as a threat. It often prompts anti-virus programs because it needs to update regularly. Since its modifying itself, vista constently needs you to approve it.
What always seems to work for me, is to just run the program as administrator, and if it prompts, check "always use this choice" and allow it.
Also I'd try disabling any firewalls and anti-virus programs, along with Vista's innate firewall, and see if that helps. I shouldn't have to say this, but make sure you turn them all back on afterwards, I dont think any game is worth a virus invasion :P
Working fine here on vista x64.
Tried all that curse....
It is vista 32, and I dunno if something else is messing but there are many with this problem on the web, all seems to be in vista 32 I seen...
Strange I ran the CB client no problem with Vista 32,I never changed anything, just simply double clicked the icon then "allow" and that was it.Are you sure it is Vista? I mean is it maybe that some other secruity you have on your pc blocking it?
I know Vista gets a bad name and is the easiest to blame but I honestly had no problems with it and this game.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

I run XP, it is my friends computer...
No, we turned everything we could off first, didn't help. Hes not the only one with the problem either. Very strange.
GG was not present on the CB client (ver 0.9.0.1). It is on the new OB client ver 0.9.0.2.
There is a workaround for vista users somewhere.... I'll try to find it.

Haven't had any problems with vistax64.
I just updated from the CB client to the OB client and have had no problems updating and entering the game. I am running it on Vista 32. Perhaps there is some other problem.
I did see this extra programme being installed and I was wondering what is was for? Does anybody know? (Yes, I know, I am a PC amateur ) I nearly exited the installation, asI don't like surprises like that!
Game Guard? Its a common program used by a hell of a lot of F2P MMOs to stop hacking and the such. Its not the most effective program though, from my personal experiences.
Are you running Grisoft's AVG 8.0 Free? I know I saw a post on a forum somewhere talking about having similar problems in another game with GG. He disabled AVG while playing and the problem went away.
I couldn't find the Vista x32 problem workaround though. I hope you figured it out.
