EPIC'lly dull? As in it doesn't matter where mythic places the keeps as they aren't a direct means of getting to your enemies city? Hell, with the current system you could have an RVR lake on some secluded island in the middle of the ocean.
Im not a game designer, however Im pretty damn sure they should have made these keeps forward spawns and each keep capture leads you down a path which eventually leads to your enemies stronghold aka city. What they were thinking beats the hell outta me, but there is no feeling of "We better not lose this keep! That would have been days of wasted effort."
Basically what I'am saying is the game would need a major redesign which will not happen so it will never be the way it should.... ever.
One of my co-workers gave me a copy of Litch King as a gift. Tried it and instantly I remembered why I can;t stand wow anymore. They can steal everythign they want from WAR and WAR is still going to be a better game all around.
I went back to Warhamemr after first two days. RvR and live events are just fantastic.
@OP: Well, still decent that you made it to level 77+ before deciding to throw in the towel, that shows something about the game at least, especiall doing it in such a relatively short time since Wotlk was released, you must have played quite a bit

Why? The new LW gigantic open world PvP zone is a blast on PvP servers like Al'Akir. Even on simple PVE servers like DB they always are active.
War players should try it. Concentrated, dense, moveable siege engines, tanks, mulitple tiers of walls that collapse and ... always available on prime time. Even between the figths there is PvP going on and 90% of the people didn't even reach 80 yet and level out first.
On most servers this LW will be the main event within 2 or 3 weeks when everbody will have hit 80.
I simply say: OP you have NO idea what Wow figths are these days. This is PvP anno 2009, not pre 2004.

familiar with the old saying, "too little, too late?" wow/Blizz had their chance to win me over with pvp as I played the game on and off for 2 years. Over that time, they nerfed world pvp, ruined my favorite BG --AV, and shoved the lame arena system down my throat. Not only that, they ruined the lore of WC for me when they gave Palladins to the horde and now (I quit long ago) DKs to the Alliance. Wows classes are as unoriginal as they come. All wow really is, is a EQ clone and now is stealing some ideas from WAR. Note to Blizz: get original for a change. To sum it all up, I am done with wow, they had their chance to retain me and failed, by neglecting world pvp and destroying the game lore and shoving RAIDs and the Arena system down my thorat. You want my $15 a month ? DONT TELL ME WHAT I WANT, I WILL TELL YOU. Enjoy the world pvp it took 4 years and a competing MMO (WAR) to bring about. Cuz you can stick the fork in this Alliance Paladin.
I too found WOTLK boring and way, way too easy. Everything is free epics, you'd have to be terribad to wipe in an instance in WoW, only Malygos offers a tiny bit of challenge, and that only takes 1 night to learn and beat.
Once the combat and class changes patch comes with 1.06 and the next patch, WAR will have a better combat system, tanks that actually tank in PVP, proper world PVP that changes the game map, and more challenging PVE than the casual-crap expansion offered in the older game.

I did 5 times the instance in this last week and with different PUG's wiped 6 times on 5 trials. Just the beginning dungeon. The same applies to paladin tanks and warriors btw. I don't know about druids.

Whatever the patch.
Sorry but if you wiped in a WOTLK instance from UTK onwards, you're bad players, simple as that We even used a hunter pet to tank and it worked, they are that easy
Wintergrasp is a joke, it's totally rubbish. Right now it's even worse than it should be, it's just a simplistic fisher price toy siege vehicle zerg, I find weird lowbies in there (talking level 50s and a level 40-something once). The fighting is just vehicles running around pushing 1-2 attacks, and even with just a few people in it (as not everyone has gone there yet), it lags worse than my 200 v 200 fights in Dragonwake and Praag. The objectives are a joke, the timer is just too long and Tenacity just turns it into carebear tripe for terribads and PVEers.
Tanks are just weak dps in WoW, they have no flavour and they certainly aren't tanks in PVP, they're just armoured low dps class specs. Compared to the way tanks work in WAR PVP, where their 50% reduce damage on friends, ability to PVP taunt and their group damage soak abilities like hold the line, there's no comparison. Warhammer has superior tanking and overall PVP tactics, WoW is just a weak kiddie zerg, with dumbed down PVE
At least the raid PVE in WoW used to be good, but now it's total casual crap, WOTLK is just boring easymode for bad players

Rofl, ow so you made it to 77 already? Last time you were still 74 and you had already decided Wotlk sucked, you certainly are quite the masochist aren't you?
Here's a description of how Lake Wintergrasp actually works from a player on the VN, I think most people will agree the idea behind it is a good one:
"Wintergrasp though...FUN. Basically you have 2 sides for 40 mins(could be less.) The side that last controlled the keep is on defense and the side that did not is on offense. You kill other players or siege weapons or turrets to gain rank as your rank goes up you get access to different vehicles. Each side can have a maximum of 12 vehicles at any given time. The offense tries to break through the walls into the keep to use the orb thereby gaining control. The defense mans up there turrets and their own siege weapons to stop them. Or they can take an offensive approach and try to take the vehicle depots so that offense cannot make vehicles."

I think it's funny that you posted on the WOW forums saying you reached lvl 74 and the game was terrible and you were going back to Warhammer. Now you are talking about being lvl 77 and still playing WOW.
Makes me wonder how bored you must be with warhammer that you play a game you supposedly hate.
Levelling in WoW is really easy and fast, I just level in the early mornings when WAR is quiet, or when GOA servers are down for patching AGAIN (LIKE THIS MORNING ARGH /rant)

Its a bit naive of you saying "too litle, too late" certainly it wasnt too late for the 1 million people that joined in the last month or so.

It's a funny thing with WoW haters. It just shows how mentally unstable they are to play a game that they hate with a passion. Also says how much they enjoy WAR.
I played WoW when it came out. I fell out of bed with it after a month realizing how druids just weren't what I thought. I missed the DAoC pvp. I cancelled after one month (trial+1 month). I have not gone back, and I don't ever intend to do so. A few years later I read how Blizzard hired most of the old hard core eq team. How they were making 'focused' roles for hybrids etc. That was the kiss of death, since that point I have not kept up with WoW besides knowing about the expansions and a bunch of idio...ignorant people still playing it.
I beta'd WAR. I loved it. It was/is DAoC 2.0. I missed those days of pvp. If I wasn't busy with RL preparing for the coming hyperinflationary depression/teotwaki, I would be playing WAR. It was a lot of fun for me. So when a game that does come out that's decent, I don't play because...it seems on some level I've grown up .
But to all the naysayers...WAR is a lot of fun. But so is DAoC...and look at the servers...empty...
Can you please explain to us how you know a game is decent when you aren't playing any games?
It is a sad day when you can't play games because you are "grown up".
Personally, I enjoy the fact that WoW has allowed for a variety of play types: group, solo or PVP. I enjoy the fact that if I have been questing for a while, I can quickly add variety by doing a little PVP in a Battleground. It gives me the chance to vary my play style while not having to be on a complete PVP server.
I have played a large variety of games: EQ, EQ2, EVE, City of Heroes, Vanguard etc.., IMHO WoW adds variety and ease of jumping in and out of the game that these others don't. I highly respect the long-term hardcore EQers out there, I am just not one of them.

Warhammer also has that instant "pick up and play" factor, but it's definitely a longer journey to level cap. The levelling process is a much more interesting one as there's variety from normal questlines to PQs to scenario quests and RVR quests in the PVP areas (yes you can siege keeps from level 11 onwards all the way up)
It's not just the PvP that's tonnes better in WAR, it's also the PvE questing. Really can't be bothered with WoW's cumbersome solo PvE questing system after having tried WAR's.

As you don't play WotLK, you don't even have a clue what you are talking about )
Proof? Remember Death Knights? They can be specced as tanks and they do more damage this way than a lot of DPS.
I was in Utgarde Keep yesterday. We had a DK tank at level 73. To my surprise he had the most damage done after the instance. Oh and we wiped once indeed.
Wotlk changed the way Tanks are putting out damage now. But you don't know this because you simply don't play WotLK.
I did 5 times the instance in this last week and with different PUG's wiped 6 times on 5 trials. Just the beginning dungeon. The same applies to paladin tanks and warriors btw. I don't know about druids.
PvP that changes the game map? You never even entered the new Lake Winterspring open world PvP zone or you wouldn't say that either. Oh and yes the gigantic Keeps in WotLK do fall to pieces with moveable siege engines and real combat tanks, something I have yet to see in War.
Whatever the patch.

I do have a lot of time on my hands
The statement of OP showed he never played WotLK )
This is PvP anno 2009, not pre 2004.
.... Now where is my combat manned Tank?
familiar with the old saying, "too little, too late?" wow/Blizz had their chance to win me over with pvp as I played the game on and off for 2 years.
