All Mmo fans should tell the Spellborn DEV's/ Publishers what they think !

I really really like Spellborn ... though I am being forced into actually not being able to play it !

I implore everyone who love's Mmo's to email or write to the Spellborn Dev 's to let them know that splitting up Europe at awhim is totally unacceptable. I live in the UK and last time I looked we are a part of Europe although the Spellborn Dev's seem to have taken it upon themselves to tell me I'm not.

I would be forced into playing on US severs and for me its totally not possible with time difference. ( I'm not saying its the same for everyone though ).

How they can try and justify this is beyond me and to add insult to injury they decide to IP block too.

If you love Mmo's then dont let them get away with this , because if they do others will follow suite.

I'm not even sure if what they are doing is legal either.

So please let them know your disgust anyway you can. Be it by forums or emailing them directly.

I agree that this is a bad idea, but, it is not illegal.  They are a private company so they can do whatever they want to with their product.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Honestly, you should tell them that they should not have cut a deal with Acclaim for NA release.  I can understand why they did it, probably because they felt they needed NA and couldn't get it without conceding UK to Acclaim.

I'm not sure why getting the UK would be an issue for Acclaim.  Getting the USA should provide enough potential players on it's own to be a tempting treat.  Do Mindscape and Frogster provide coverage for the UK in whatever else they produce (never heard of 'em before this stuff)?  I got the feeling Acclaim was more of a catch-all sort of safety net, grabbing NA and whatever EU stuff that wasn't already covered.

the question is, how do you really reach the devs ?

the studio spellborne nv seems pretty well hidden in all of this. frogster is just another publisher like acclaim. id really be interested to see a comparison between the guys from eve online and tcos on how they handled/ survived selfpublishing the game.

They haven't listened to anybody up to this point, why are they suddenly going to start now? At this point in development, they've signed the contracts and made all the deals. You think there's not a backout clause on Acclaims side? Leave Acclaim, pay a fee. And then hope to find another NA publisher with the money left over. And after all the years of development, if Acclaim was the only NA publisher they could get in all that time, they won't find any better if they get rid of them. You don't have many options below "bottom of the barrel" ( Acclaim ).

Such an irony. How the publisher's protective actions causes the game to lose potential customers.

    Noobie MMO publishers ftl!
