played it a few months after release ...but i noticed a lot has gone on....and i enjoyed it the first time but not enough to stick around...
one question though...what is the most populated server
I'd also like to do the trail but can only find the low def download. My comps more then capable of handling the game on max settings don't they have a high def download trail, and if so where?
oops sorry no idea about which server is the most populated

Winter the high res client is linked in a sticky topic at the top back at the lists of posts here.
As for population, I don't think it has ever been said which has a more population after the merges. If you like a perma death guild then you'll have to server shop for which one you want.
This is a player composed polling of the servers. I did not perform this poll but I thought it would help you out. I play on Khyber and I am a bit biased. Khyberians are power gamers for the most part but we have had a recent insurgent of post-WOW players. We have veteran players in the lowbie areas to help new to the game people learn the game. You will generally find a mix of pugs on the grouping page for levels 1-8 and then levels 12-16. The mid levels are tough to get through, so I would suggest getting in a guild.
Argonessen - Permadeath Guild (stabilished); lots of new players; Guilds - a few are closed with power players; good number of pugs; Large Populace. - Social Feel of the server - Friendly
Thelanis - Permadeath Guild; lots of players; closed guilds with power players (also some are elitists) and also Open Friendly Guilds; Large Populace. Easy to get Pugs (Unless for raids where some elitists exclude non-sanctified builds) - Social Feel of the Server - Overall Good.
Ghallandha - Good Number of Players; International Power Player Guild (Very good one - Koreans); Average Populace; Around the clock Pugs (Lots of internationals make up for 24/7); Good chance of Pug; Lots of elitists power players. RAID oriented server (if raid is your bussiness come here or to Thelanis) - Social Feel of the Server - Stick to your friends till youre in a stabilished guild.
Khyber - Small number of players, but most are fairly good; You have 2 players who sell supplies at a LARGE discount; Not so many PUGS; Power Players are more friendly than on other servers (Gorn's influence?) - Social Feel of the Server - Feel Good.
Sarlona - Small number of players; most above average; International Chinese Server Merged (lot's of LFM for chinese players on chinese); Closed Guilds with Power Players - Social Feel of the Server - Only one i don't have an opinion formed yet, as i don't play much there.
Ghallanda seems pretty good. There's usually around 20-25 LFM's up on a Sunday afternoon; pacific time zone during prime time. We usually have around 15-20 people logged in during fridays, saturdays and sundays around US Prime Time hours; Guild: Lifetakers & Heartbreakers.
During the evenings there's normally 4-10 LFM's up at any given time.
I can attest to the info about Sarlona, I just came back to the game, and that server I see people running around, but chat is empty, and I have only been in one party and I have a Cleric :P
Seems like nobody uses general chat or looks at "looking for group" - you do have to look for (or start) Groups with Looking for More.. and get ina guild /ao a userchannel and you'll never want for groups again.
Typical of a long-standing game.. we've all shaken out into guilds and into our comfort zones...
It's true.. No one uses general chat in this game. With guild chat, party chat, server private chat lines, combat views and voice chat... general chat is just too much when you have a live combat system in place.
A wanna try US trial, but i can't get comfirmation email at registration.Tried 3 times with 3 different e-mail,but nothing, so i can't get my trial key.
I live in EU and i know we have own trial, but my plan playing on US server later...
So anyone can send me a trial key here to pm or black75music@yahoo.com please?

Thelanis, in addition to your comments has an active RP group, and we have some good raid guilds.. we won the Mod 7 'server raid token race' thing.
