Ok guys, please i need some oppinions here. Who actually thinks that this game will come out before 2009? As much as i want to play this game and see if it is "The next big thing? lol soz". But the lack of information they are giving us.

and the.....well letdown videos that are beign produced really makes me wonder

if so do you even think this game will be out before 2010 for that matter :O

videos are great and becouse its realy hardcore not much info on game so no walthroughs for you guys or thottbots to study so you can have an easy ride

Its done when its done then we can play greatests hardcore pvp game ever

It's time to come to terms with the fact that there is no next "big thing." No game will ever abduct players like WOW.  I am not saying that WOW is an amazing game, but it's time to realize that no game will match or surpass the magnitude of WOW. 

The only way for a game to succeed in a market dominated by blizzard is for players to give Devs a chance to steer their product in a direction that players approve of most. But to ask that of this community is like the chance of there being a "next big thing", never going to happen.

That being said, there are other alternatives on the market though, some underly hyped, and some overly hyped, and  with time they might be able to grow into a mutli million player game, but I doubt it.

Never say never. Obviously the next big thing won't be Darkfall. I'm only saying that because of the PvP feature of Darkfall, which does not appeal to a mass audience.

But you never know when something we've never dreamed of is going to grab the online gaming community, and take off, just like no one expected WoW to be so huge.

We might not see it in our lifetimes, but it could happen.

On a more serious note, I would say this game has a very slim chance of coming out in 2008, and a little bit better chance of coming out in 2009, but we will see.

Heh its not even out yet of course there isn't any guides. But you know there will be. Every game has a guides on the internet.

No one seriously expects the game to be released by the promised date (2008). The developers are beginning to realize that more than a month of beta testing is needed before the game is released.

I still can't see how they could pull off an '08 release this late in the year, but I'd love to be proven wrong. I think they jumped the gun a little by putting "Darkfall 2008" in all of their newer videos, but if other developers can hype a release date and miss it, why can't Aventurine be allowed the same?

I wouldn't take any bets on that it will release in time, that is at least something I am sure off.

I predict we will see about 3000 more videos and they will let 2 people from each country in Europe to "play" open beta every 6 months.

What worries me most about this game is not whether it'll come out or not, but the community. Judging by this forum, it's hands down the worst I've seen.

Just a bunch of whiny fanboys who hate to be told they are wrong and that their game may not be the end-all MMO. Sadly, I'd take the WoW community over the MMORPG.com Darkfall community anyday. So much for a mature game.

EVEN if I didn't know ANYTHING about this game at all, IF  I went from statistics on MMO Releases,  I would say NOT in 2008.  How many MMO's hit their Release Date?  Nearly none?  Know with that and knowing about Darkfalls troubles of the past... Well come on,  I think its safe to say 2009 is a strong possiblity.

An Xmas release would be a great marketing strategy. Even if the game should be in beta till February 09 they may well go for that.

That attitude is comparable, to the people who preach  "Those new fangled whatchamacallits  will never catch on!". 

Although I don't play WoW, you can not deny that it is the biggest thing to happen to MMO's. It has oppened the market and made investing in the MMO genre  attractive. WoW is a training school for future MMO players.

What was once a genre played by a few hundred thousand, is now a giant market whose virtual economies rival that of small countries.

WoW is like the first mass production car, the "Model T" by Henry Ford. WoW made a standard game that  anyone can play with few barriers to entry for casual players. 

There will be MMO's bigger than WoW there is no doubt, and sooner than you would imagine. Wait till some of the really big telecommunications giants or industry conglomerates step into the game. Then you will see what a corporate powerhouse can do when it smells a profit.

This analysis and analogy of the MMORPG market has been stated for quite some time now. But what if it's not accurate? I'm beginning to think this is mere wishful thinking.

Like your "Model T" analogy. But it's not like people graduated from the model T to a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. They went from the Model T to driving a Honda Civic. Is Darkfall a Honda Civic? I don't think so.

I'd say EQ and UO were the Model T, and now WoW is the Honda Civic.

The idea is that people will play WoW, because it's accessible, and easy, and then they will understand how to play an MMORPG, and want something more complicated, more in depth, like EVE or Darkfall.

I am beginning to think that is not true at all. What 90% of teh WoW players are looking for is a new WoW with different graphics, new territory to explore, and new quests. They are NEVER going to graduate from WoW to something more complicated like EVE or Darkfall. They want to trade in their Honda Civic, for a Toyota Camry, because it's something new, but they don't want something radically different, or  more complex.

It's like 2-3 weeks untill a possible release, don't think they will release it around christams, i mean who the hell does?

Either begining of december, or the end. Begining seems most logical, but then again DF is not logic

 

I hope it will be released, but i doub it, there is no release date, no pre-order, nothing. No way in hell it's going to be released in december, unless they make a DnL of it.
