Is it just me or does anyone else think this Heavy metal event is a complete waste of time. Lets face it its pretty much only one scenario and despite many many hours queing ive managed to get in once and that is on a medium pop server at peak play time which i had to wait 3 hours to get it.
Now that is just a lie...it never takes 3 hours at peak hours especially. I think you don't even know when the peak hours are.
First of all, if you don't want to do it...don't! It's not forced and yes it is "just you" and flamers alike who would hate this game to the end of time.

I thought the whole quest was a joke because it was too damn easy ... I started a whole week late and finished it in about 6 hours of playing. maybe you guys are just a bunch god damn brats that don't want to put any god damn effort into thier game. come on 20 undead
3 stages of a scenerio (not it doesnt have the be the same senerio and it can all be stage 1)

you know how friggen easy that is?!? grow up get some balls and put some effort into the game and you will get your reward quick.

Uh, 6 hours of gameing doesn't seems so bad in my opinion, waste one evning and you're done. Still a lot of time to do other stuff 6 days that week.
Well i guess it must depend on what server u r on but on karak izor and on karak norn despite playing for 3-4 hours a session it popped twice at with a tier one character. Despite having tried in 3 different tiers if i have to ffin hang around for 4 hours just to get in that still kinda sucks
Lol at the person whi thought killing the chickens was fun - some people are easily pleased
PS I might add one of the times it let me in it was half way through and i had leess than 5 minutes in there
Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.
Seemed fine. Nothing special, but who was expecting that? Those looking for a challenge?? I'm wondering what game you're playing. Nothing is designed to be challenging or difficult in WAR. Just time consuming.
In my opinion the whole concept is comepletely flawed in that alot of the tasks require you to comeple a number of taks in said scenario however anyone who has taken part in any scanerio will know how hard it is to sort a pug into any semblance of order. Throw into this mix you have people all trying to get different taks done as soon as you get in they all fek off all over so it defeats the purpose of trying to get them to complete the goals to win the scenario in the first place.
Actually this is exactly what I like about this event the most - tasks within a scenario. For starters everybody is trying to win and AT THE SAME TIME complete those goals - I find it very fun and challenging.

I think six hours is a good amount of time. I was more or less commenting on his effort comment. I work 5 days a week about 7 am and don't get home till about 7 or 8 pm and am busy on the weekends. If they said this event would take over 40 hours then I prob wouldn't have done it because I just don't have that kind of time to pour into a game.

I work from 8 am to 5 get home at 6ish myself, I have a family with bills to play (like omg i don't live in my parents basement!). I can still put effort and time into the games i am dedicated to.

maybe MMORPGs arent for you?
Maybe your concept of what an MMORPG isn't the same as what it is for that person? Personally a MMORPG for me is about meeting up with people, having fun and smashing the enemy, not the hours dedicated to it.
The HM was a great thing to do and i had a lot of fun doing them but i am on a high pop server, for those on a medium to low pop its bacially a slap in the face and telling them they wont be able to get the new classes early.....because their on low pop servers, hardly encouraging population growth.
I dont really see the point in doing the Heavy Metal Event because a week or so after it is realeased everyone will stop playing it because of the repitition throught the game. Which gets really broing after a while.

Not to knock your comment, but here we go..
What game out there is'nt repetitive. Every MMO, RTS or FPS is repetitive..
I liked the event. Quick, easy and painless. I finished it all in a few hours.
I've even run the RF scenario for no other reason than to try and get the Pie Assassin and Death by Pie titles. I haven't had any luck yet, but it's hilarious to try and kill someone with a pie.
As for the open RvR, I suspect we'll start seeing more of it when the RvR version of influence gets put into the game. I enjoy getting into a good warband and slaughtering the enemy, and hopefully that will happen more often in the near future.

The only disappointment for me was that there wasn't more emphasis on RvR - too many Reikland Factory quests (like we need more emphasis on scenarios!). The first time that the daily event required 15 kills in RvR, there was intense activity in the RvR lakes everywhere, had a blast. More like this, please!
Really enjoyed it. Only took a few minutes of queuing for Reikland Factory to get in it. It's a great scenario as well, so when I've not been doing oRvR I've been queueing exclusively for RF.
I am not a fan of the Reikland Factory layout, but it was something new and obviously was not rehashed and reskinned content.
The fact that they even made the effort to introduce the new classes in such a grand fashion means that they are still very much excited about the game they are continueing to tweak. That in turn makes me feel much more comfortable.
Reason being is that while this particular live event may not have been all that I in particular wanted; I do feel they have the right attitude and are moving fast forward in the right direction.
I was enjoying the "task a day" bit and was slightly hacked off when the dumped the rest in.
The PQs were pointless, as we all went and did PQ1. The oRvR caused a lot of good fights (even though I had to take pity on the outnumbered Order and go a sucide a few time). The scenario was a pain as it was only popping a few time a night. The sandcastle was fun, visit all the points was fun, as was the chickens, if the pie had knock back, then I think that one would have been fun too.
So, daily task, yes. oRvR yes, but keep the number of kills down. Don't make it all three stages of a PQ, you can't do that solo, duo, or trio, unless you go right down the line. Go and visit person X, yep but make it fun and put in a side quest. Go kill X, well okay but make it a quest. Since Mythic really wants to wean us off doing so many Scenarios, it's probably better to make some fun Instant Dungeon quests (linear story type).

The event itself was quick and easy. I found it fun. Reikland Factory is the best part of the event. That is one fun scenario.

How can you say it was time consuming or hard? I completed the entire thing in one night, it took maybe 3 hours tops to get to the elite reward.
Really, if thats too hard, well then, I dunno what to tell you.

sorry... I had to LOL...
i liked the concept of Heavy Metal especially kill 15 enemies in RVR one
The day that was launched my server was filled with hundreds of people in fast action faced RVR
I completed the quest in 20 minutes but went on to RVR for over 2 hours non stop/
These kinds of missions are welcome as people come out from scenarios in opene RVR

Hell even in its day was repetitive.
i got it done in less than 2 hours and liked it the cloak was very nice too

I actually really liked it. Cant wait for more events like it, to be honest.
What he said.
I liked Heavy Metal. The que times were absurd. 3-4 hours to get in on "multiple" occasions. Oh well, still fun.
Eh. It was alright.

Overall score 5/10, could do better.
