Everyone wants to make the game they want it to be. That's wrong! WAR and WOW by example are fairly easy and it attracts those people. If there are more games that are more challenging and are more complex which of course does not mean you have to spend 5 hours a day to be good, no you won't, it is just more challenging which is in my opinion great. The problem is , those people leave WOW and now want to make other games that are more challenging or less soloable more easy , more E-Z mode, more instant gratification.

    Agree.

This is why a game like Eve Online survives. It certainly is NOT a game for the crowd. It has an extremely difficult beginning learning curve ( I don't think they even have a manual lol). Once you take a month to figure out how to run your ship and where to go, you then are faced with extreme difficulty in space. When you die, poof, your whole ship and items are gone, unless you buy some kind of insurance. As difficult as this game is, it has a nice adult following and there are few kiddies in there. Its just difficult for them as there is no immediate sastifaction to 'ownz' anything. And the ones who use teamwork and build relationships usually are the most successful. The loners usually die or progress VERY slowly.

If AION stays true to its tougher gaming heritage, unlike Western games, it will have no problem finding an audience. If they try and dumb it down Wow/War style, this game will please neither set. Its best it stays hot on one side rather than lukewarm for both.

The guy already "admitted" he  played to the max level in 8 days....  now can we shut up on this thread?  He's clearly a troll.  Why? cause max level wasn't even availiable till the 25th in Korea and even now, its only availiable IN korea.   Settle down guys, nothing to worry about.  As for you Dev, take you're ass to the WoW forums and make yourself comfortable.  There's more players ther to harass then here.

It's almost 2010, and I am just not wiling to tolerate clunky graphics while being told that "gameplay is more important than graphics". That excuse won't wash with me any more. I expect my games to have both good graphics and good gameplay.

Often times I logon for an hour or two and I really just want to hop on and quest right away. If a normal mob's difficulty requires me to look for a party for half an hour just to kill it, than yeah, this game isn't for me. I prefer to play MMO's on the side, not play to live - or live to play for the matter.
For me, I game not for the challenge, but to relax... I don't want to stress out with hard content and possible emo kids. If I wanted the challenge and constant stress, I'd be playing an FPS. Aion should cater to both audiences... those that want social interactions, and those that just want to solo.
    Just my opinion.

Well, that's the problem these days.

That is wrong mate, there are plenty of games that are solo-able , easy . Now we want some more challenging games. Games that give you more freedom or games that aren't only a solo mmo. More groupbased like FFX or more sandbox like UO or more a game like old EQ which is more hardcore by example.

Please don't create every game into a E-Z mode mmo. The market is oversaturated with flops and clones, let's have a bit of difference in the mmo market please!

    Point well taken.

You say everyone wants to make a game they want it to be... this is absolutely true, yourself included! I already explained how casual and hardcore players can be accomodated. WoW caters to a wide range of audience and the game is only "ez-mode" if you let it be. Sure everyone and their grandmother's can hit max level, but the end-game it provides scales through a wide spectrum of skill level.

I also don't understand why you're coming to a conclusion that solo-able content = ezmode. I don't mind the challenge of playing solo... I just really dislike grouping, or any type of 'group' effort when I'm leveling. What peeves me is that a lot of people want extreme ends of difficulty... wheather it be easy or hard. I assure  you, this is not where I'm coming from.

Gameplay should have less restrictions... wheather you want to play solo or group should entirely be up to the player. This is exactly what I think an MMO Role Playing Game should be. And again, this is just my opinion.

Anyways, I don't even know why there should be any argument. The game is already experiencing a lot of influx from the Korean WoW community, which definitely means there's something similar in the game that attracts players.

You guys DO realize Aion is entirely quest-driven, right?

There is no grinding, EVER. Levels 1-50 = quests. This is why even simple monsters take time to kill, because you DO NOT NEED TO KILL MANY OF THEM.

Do a bit of research on the game before you go ASSuming things.

and I'm hoping this is the case. we were talking more alongs the lines if the quests required a group or not.

You can solo to max, it will take a little longer but doable. But the best game play is doing harder mobs with a group of friends. Now thats a blast, better drops and faster lvling. Some of these mobs are linked to one or two other mobs so you got to know your roll in the party.

It gets ramped up in the abyss because your group has to alway be keeping an eye out for enemy factions that might come roll your group up.

That's the point,I want to quest with RL friends or people I meet in game thus creating a community and new friends. There's enough games which is too solo friendly which are clone of clones of another clone.I just wish Aion stays true to thier vision.
