People paid for WoW even though the PvP was worthless (no rewards) end game was non-existant, and server stability was some of the worst ever.

    oh, and yes I'm re-subbing.

Despite the lies told by Blizzards marketing machine, the reality in WAR for me is this; my guild of 250+ members barely took a hit when WotLK went live.  Almost everyone who left for WotLK came back.  Our guild is growing, our guild alliance is growing and RvR is really heating up in T4.  Our servers population is strong and growing and we have a great community.

End game?  How would anyone know anything about WAR end game when so few have actually experienced it?  Its not that its too easy, its that its too hard.  Neither side has taken a fortress on my realm much less gotten to a city and thats not for a lack of trying.  Some dungeons are just too tough given our current gear.  WAR end-game is a significant challenge on a competetive realm like ours.   While in WotLK, the end game content was completely finished in 3 days using level 70 gear, no one in WAR and I mean no one has gotten even close to owning end WAR game.

Success in WoW just requires showing up.  You dont need a guild, you dont need a party, most pve and pvp content is soloable.  In WAR however, you need a community, on both sides, working together and against each other.   When you have it like we do on my realm, WAR is an absolutely awesome and fun game.

What about the future of WAR?  I have been playing the new careers on the test realm and they are both awesome.  There are big changes coming in RvR.   WAR has gotten much better since release and will continue to get better.

If you want ez-mode pvp and pve, stick to WoW.  If you want a real challenge, come play WAR.

Why should you believe me?  Because  I am not talking about opinions or theory.  For me, my guild, our alliance, our realm and our server, this is the way it is every night.  Those who say otherwise simply have not experienced the game.  I have about 15 people on our guilds vent server waiting for me right now.   Time to go have a blast playing my Rank 40/RR 40 character in full Anhialator set in a dying(lawl) game.

I resubscribed to WAR because I never had as much fun playing a game and it never was as much of a challenge. I play because it is focused on PvP/RvR which I adore because it always is a challenge and always will be a challenge because I am playing against another person.

I am not going to say the bad things in WoW thats going on (or easy things) but WAR is for those who are sick of some MMO's and Blizzard did make WoW's end-game too easy which will cause them to lose subscribers because you could do everything in just a few days.

Yes. I'm going to get to level 40. So what if I'm 'playing it wrong' as mentioned in another thread. I'm enjoying the scenarios, the occasional RvR and the odd PvE when no-one is about. After that who knows? I didn't last long in WoW after I got to level 70, so I guess I'm the type of simple minded casual player these forums love to hate! I pay my sub and enjoy the content until I'm burned out or bored. :D

I'm definitely not resubbing to this game, although it will be another LOTRO in time, it won't be something as big as Lineage or Lineage II

Two months and I'm still going, this game has got me hooked. I'll say you should resub when the new characters roll cos thats when there would be more traffic and you'll get to enjoy the game more. And if you do get into the game make sure you join a guild that's active, an active guild always keeps you coming back.

    This is not a game.

That goes for any game off course, MMOs are just as fun as the people you play it with.

Still I wait until the 4 citys are patched in, and maybe Ill get a US version then so I don't have to suffer GOA...

Yes, I'm resubbed. I'll probably change Destruction servers, though, since the one I'm on (Gorfang) seems to be lacking Order players.

My Order server (Magnus), on the other hand, is active and I'm enjoying it a great deal, at least so far. I figure when it stops being fun, I'll stop playing it.

Yep, end of these discussions. :)))

The technique is phasing and MY Wow world is different than other players of Wow. Sometimes it is being preceded by an in game cinematic, but sometimes it's in the game.

NOT even talking of the "take a potion part and then the surroundings reshape temporarely". No guys: this was only the forerunner. The world changes indefinitely according to the quests you do.

    LOL

It's a the NEW form of MMORPG of course.

Have fun in that old hat PvP game that's called War.

I plan on leveling to 40(at 35 right now) then i will prolly cancel my sub. I will though still be looking over the patches and seeing if anything new is to come out. I may come back someday if everything picks up.

I will not be resubbing for at least another year.

I was a huge fan of this game throughout beta and even at release. Preordered, got friends into it, everything.

Mythic, however, did not move fast enough on a few key issues. Not game breakers, but things that certainly annoyed the heck out of me. Things that i really expected to see fixed quickly. Won't go into all of that again though :)

Landed back in some older mmorpgs that I am having a balst with now, and will definitely keep my eye on WAR... but it's going to be a long time before I set foot back in the WAR world.

I wish Mythic and the players the best though, it's a good game.

Northrend is a disappointment, more of the same, uninspiring to behold, etc.
So I just cancelled WoW and went back to WAR. WAR needs some improvements, sure, but I just enjoy it more, and with the latest round of server merges, there seems to be a lot more ORvR going on in Tier 3. It has definitely lost population--I was one of them--but I guess I will give Mythic some time to move it in the right direction.

Exactly.  This is exactly what is gonna happen.  I went back to LOTOR myself for 1 week.  Moria was the same old thing.  It is basically the dwarf housing area with quests.  They give u a legendary weapon that feels like your leveling an alt.  PVP still horrible.  Once i tasted the PVP in WAR , I was done.  Wish I didnt buy the Moria expansion.

Never, worst game ever and it has no potential to ever improve. Down with WAR

Looking for a new game to play

  • ElikalElikal Member UncommonPosts: 7,912

My account just ran out when the 30 days period ended, and caught me unawares and not having intended to quit. But since I wasnt too thrilled I didnt subscribe back then, and with each weeks passing I feel like missing it less and less to a degree it feels like nothing I ever player or wanted to play atm. I am having a really good time with the Moria addon in LOTRO, so that adds to making my disinclined to resub. I kinda wait for the BIG change, the new classes and MAYBE  somewhere in 2009 I may try it out again. Only when I hear many good news.

Resubbed last week. But only because I have now found a decent server for me - and my first char hit tier 4 (which, as others have pointed out, great fun at times).

After they nerfed scenarios (or rather increased the timer), there is also more open world pvp and questing going on again - so I'll give WAR another chance.

I would wait until at least patch 1.1 goes live.  [not 1.05 or 1.06]

The game is having some real serious issues right now and it is uncertain how things will stabilize until after that patch.   It is a make or break point for a lot of people and the last thing you want to do is get caught on an underpopulated server.

No, I'll not be returning to the game as I find its core design lacking, and Its PVP starts to feel like ground hog day, and its to slow and clicky for a MMO released in 2008.

Yes, resubing for the 3rd time this month, great game.

I think that's the key, population, make sure that you resub to a server that has equal balance amongst Desto and Order.

Goto http://www.waralytics.com and look at the various server threads in warhammeralliance or vnboards. Do some research.

I almost cancel my sub, because of low population in general and Desto over population on my server, until I change my toon to a server that is almost well balanced.    It makes it at least a bit bearable.   We'll see if the coming patch either address or exacerbate the population imbalance issue.   If it exacerbates it, I will cancel it then.

No, healing in War was to boring, and second point my guild is on the wrong side, destro, and I prefer order

At 10 dollars at amazon.com it shows it fails as a new game. I don't see EA supporting it longer than at breakeven point. That point is 250K subs for EA... and they are already under this number if you believe Xfire.
But of course www.xfire.com is no good for some.
The only thing is ... Xfire always was right in the past (TR, VA, AoC), so why shouldn't it be right with War, a game which wasn't even ready to be published.
Other MMORPG's survived with less subs, but as this is an EA game and economy is in a depression.
So Why resub for a game that has such a dark future? Go talk with TR fans and the others that have closed their curtains.
