EA's new project.

So apparently Warhammer wasn't EA's big MMO project.

In this month's Game Informer is says that EA has a MMO project that they are super hush hush about.

any ideas?

Well EA and the word Innovative don't go together, so you can probably assume it is another theme park of some type.

Poking a turd around inside an empty cardboard box with a stick online most likely, also expect extreme lag.  Graphics might be good though.

This was exactly my first thought. Knowing EA's track record, they're sure to screw it up somewhere along the way. Might as well write this one off as a loss now and save yourself the time, money, and effort.

If I had it to guess...

    Hogwarts Online?

Pretty sure EA does all the normal Harry Potter games...

I dont see why EA does not use that money and build Warhammer up more

EA sounds like SoE, they got lots of eggs in differnt basket (station pass) and they all stink.

What if all that effort went into one game?

Mythic was soley devolping Warhammer long before EA stepped in.

This MMO would be out of their own deveolpment studios.

THe new trends for MMOs these days seems to be quantity over quality, ill stick to free to play MMos, at least i dont have to pay 60 bucks to find out it is shitty after a month.

Warhammer sucks so why build it up. Let it fail use the cash, start something new. (From a business standpoint). The game isn't going to really bring in new users any time soon so its pretty much a lost cause outside of money coming in from current subscribers.

Looking for a new game to play

thank god, maybe they will get thier money grubbing hands off WAR and mythic will be able to push it more toward DAOC and away from being another WoWarcrap clone.

Kinda been my theory the last year also...I played p2p MMOs since 2000 and I got tired of paying for them after awhile....Most of them you play a couple months then move on....You spend 50-100 bucks and think "now why did I do that again?".......

Yes...UO2 would be nice...but then again they would likely cancel it a few months before release for fear of loosing the little money they get from the UO cash cow.

    EA = UO2 = UO2 canceled.

Seriously, the MMO world seems empty since EA hasn't canceled a UO sequel for, what has it been, almost four years?  Richard Garriott is free, they should hire him back to start the same game from scratch three or four times before they cancel it.  They can waste a bunch of money, and have a crazy guy who used to be talented as the face of the project!

Makes perfect sense.  EA started at least two sequels to UO, and canceled both of them before they were ever launched.  Hell, the first UO sequel, UO2, was even restarted from scratch once before it was scrapped.
