I think its healthy to pick 1 mmorpg and just stick with your first. Your favorite/first mmorpg will usually be your fondest, I have already made the decision once FFXI shuts down I am quitting MMORPGs forever. It was my first mmorpg, and will be my last. I will try and play little bits and peaces of other mmorpgs (In wow I even got 2 70s) But I will never enjoy them at the level that I did FFXI. I still enjoy FFXI today more so than any mmorpg Iv tried so far, Simply because it was my first mmorpg, and a lot of life experiences and real life friends i met on there.
WAR is the only mmo so far that il never resub for any reason whatsoever the game is just blah
Yeah I really dont understan why its like this. Paul Barnnet said this was gonna be the greatest game ever basically and now..it is just 'Bla' No one seems to care about it imo I havent heared anything from the game.
Paaaaauuul!!!
PAAAAAAUUUL!!!!!
Why have you forsaken us, why, WHY!!??!! In times of great need, your hype is nowhere to be found, why Paul, why!??!?
How can just watch and say nothing, why Paul??
i knew from day 1 that this guy was way too enthusiastic.Waving his arms around and talking about how it would just be endless PvP.If the game was as good as MYTHIC was claiming they wouldnt need him.
Then 1 day a press release about what would NOT be in the game 2 weeks before launch. That would have been ok except for 1 thing. The features NOT included were the 1s that would make the game playable.
This game is a PERFECT example of overhype in the mmo genre.
NOW where the hell is Barnett?
The irony here is so many players bashed on AOC and claimed that WAR would crush FC.Now AOC is ahead of the curve and is becoming THE pvp oriented game that most players wanted anyway.
Go figure. If AOC could recover from such a horrible 1st 3 months or so they just might win an award or 2.
Actually, I disagree. And the game is endless pvp.
From the time I started playing I could pvp for pretty much the entire game session.
Granted, salesman are going to hype but maybe he truly believed/believes that the game is everything he claimed it was.
And quite frankly, I had more fun in my first month of Warhammer than I've had in any game in quite a while.
I don't think they forsaw the scenarious taking over the RvR. That was the downfall. Especially for players who were foaming at the mouth for RvR.
and my first Public Quests? Absolutely incredible. So they did create a game that kept its promises. What they didn't do was create a game that seems to have lasting appeal for a good amount of players. And that is what online games really need to do.
I think part of the issue is actual play testing. When I was in game and went to the captial city my first thought was "good that they cut other captial cities becasue having too many will dilute the playerbase".
But it's hard to imagine that to be the case when you are designing a game. It's only when you start getting into practical long term gameplay that it starts to become evident that there are issues with the initial game design.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
If you want different and complex give EVE a try. I'll stand back and watch while your brain esplodes. That being said, LOTRO is the only game that has held my interest in the past 1.5 year...but that's because I love me a good story driven game, and not one driven by gear or ganking. And if you think Darkfall will be your mmo saviour....sheesh. Be prepared for uber disappointment.
yeah eve is soooo different from other mmos. I mean you can go earn money, to buy things, and then pvp.

Why not play Dark Age of Camelot or something? Those are the True old RVR games and the graphics are still adequate with awesome, can't beat gameplay?

I honestly think that you will not be happy no matter what releases.
No game will be as good as your memories of whatever you played in the past.
You are doomed to be pessimistic and look down upon anything that releases.
You won't like DF either. You'll say its a post CU SWG clone.
I'm coming to find that I am getting too cynical myself. I think I may be starting to outgrow MMO's.
I don't find WAR to be bad...but I find myself easily bored these days.
Just like WoW bored me, and EQ2, VG, SB,DAOC (after a couple years), *enter acronym for any game released in the last 5 years here*.
good luck with that.
I played before mmo´s, when you had to have Ip adresses to join other games and i miss these days,
maybe the games had really shitty grafic but the content was still as good or better as todays g
The crowd where smaller, but had more focus and it was more like a family, than todays mass crowded mmo´s.
just my 2 cent´s
