Nah! Never did and nerver will buy gold using real currency.. But I hope this practice will stop because it will ruin the game for all of us.. My fav MMORPG right now is atlantica,, besides of it being unique in terms of gameplay and other features,, I find the game with good GMs that blocks those who would sell items/gold for money.. Keep it up guys!
Well if it would ruin the game then why hasnt it.... Ultimate online has been doing it since 1997 and its still a strong and good game. Final Fantasy and WoW are stronger then ever and ppl there do it. I dont condone those who sell or buy. of course we all know that in 1 game nobody is gonna buy millions of gold or whatever unless there a hardcore looser that cant farm or sell stuff too get the gold in the first place lol. i agree on buying it for some reasons but i also disagree for those who buy it as well... so its a hard decision but if this game your playing is more important too you then most games and your willing too pay more then your monthly plan... then you have the choice... WE ALL KNOW IT WONT RUIN THE GAME... just makes the player that bought it not as good as they seem lol. but everyone that has played MMORPG games have all wanted a rare and special items that costs way more then you can make in the game in a year.... so some ppl decide too buy the currency too get that item lol... if you dont buy currency cause you think that the game will get ruined by ppl that do... then you need move out of your parents basements lol... but if you think that buying currence is wrong cause you think ppl should earn it then great... thats your belief and i dont disagree. i just hate alot of the ppl that posted here cause they used the stupid "it ruins the game" excuse and we all know it doesnt or most of these games would have died or been ruined lol...
I fundermentally disagree with buying gold though I have done so once and don't feel I was wrong in doing so,
I was saving up for my epic flying mount in WoW at a time when very few people had them, I was only up to about 2000 gold, I was reading the wow forums and stupidly clicked on a link to an image that was meant to be about hunter damage in a raid, I instantly realised I'd clicked on a keylogger, I scanned my computer but didn't find anything so I thought I'd got away with it unfortunatly i hadn't and I logged in a few days later to find my banks/inventory/character stripped of everything. I hadn't enjoyed farming the 2000 gold and would have prefered it if they had stolen $40 from me than my time, so I replaced the gold they took.
Of course I realise this is quite possibly rewarding the scumbags but I wanted to get my account back to what it was for the min ammount of effort and buying 2000g was the best way.
Still you live and learn and I hope I'm never foolish enough to get myself hacked again.

I buy gold because i can, not really because i need to, if I can buy, I will. For me it makes the game jsut a little better and takes a little of the edge off. I alwasy wanted to start one of those business though, have a bunch of people work for me to go out there and get gold and then sell it. Its like I can be a fantasy gold pimp.

Never bought gold. I always master the games moneymaking mechanism in a few weeks. So I don't need to spen real dollars...
