Professional testers?
So the game is in closed beta, there is not single alive person to confirm he played this game in that beta. It seems they are doing that damn hard job trying to hide this game as much as possible. The question is why is it so hidden?
Take example of any mmo month before release. You would see dozens of videos, presentations or betas, the game wasnt hidden as this. There must be a good reason and only logical reason seems to be a game that is in a
bad - state
Or else, why would they hide it so much? If they release the game in a bad, unfinished state without much info before that there is a good chance all the hype will produce reasonable marketing success.

I like to think that some people are actually just oblivious to certain facts about DF, and that not all of them are just poorly hidden troll attempts. Definitely a possibility, but who knows.

There is not a single person from the official forums in the beta, not even guys that signed up in 2003 and b efore.
Only Noob comic girl(Great friend of Devs), Two Italian guys from MMORPG Italia and thats all that we know and some "pro testers." They talk about starter areas only and Tasos has to approve anything they say and keep it very limited. No talk at all about advanced features of the game or higher level stuff at all.
Tasos released some beta quotes, but we don't know who wrote them, we do know they are not people from official forums.
Last time a company was secretive was Age of Conan, and they were not even close to this secretive and look what happened.
Face it tasos does this every year. They told us Open Beta would be OVEr by Dec. 15th("Early December") but that is not true, OB has not even begun.

The OP makes a valid point. To my knowledge, and PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, there are no CREDIBLE testers who have confirmed that they are currently beta testing.

I'd like to see an established forum member on the Darkfall forums (someone from early 2000s) or, better yet, someone from a professional gaming site who gets into EVERY OTHER MMO beta.
But please prove me wrong. I'd really like to believe this is actually a game and not just an elusive topic that people talk about on forums all day.
EDIT: In regards to your above post: imbant, can you show us any proof that there are forumfallers actually in the beta, or no? I understand the NDA and what it implies, but the fact that we don't know if anyone is even in it is a bit of a problem.
Exactly this, there is just to many hidden things to believe anything of this, i mean not after all this years of same bs. As you said aoc wasnt even hidden like this and yes what happened. Yea sure you do buddy. I am on the official forums all the time and none were invited, I see all the long term followers giving up on posting nowadays becasue they are so disappointed they are not in the beta yet.
Open beta was said to be OVER BY Dec. 15th, but all they have shows are EARLY closed beta quotes and reviews, starter area and thats it.

There is no word about the game on any retailers site or store, there is no digital distribution partner that would sell the game online and host the downloadable client, there is no BILLING system or account system in place on the website, there is nothing pointing to a release by 2008 which they said was the release date.

Tasos has never lied. Not once. If you actually believe he did then i don't know what to tell you. Maybe take a step back and realize how attached you are getting to a video game that you would think Tasos owes you anything or has told you any lies. Missing goals in a development cycle is not telling a lie. A lie would be a developer hyping their game to have features and only realizing they arent in game until after people invested money. My guess is that you just refuse to accep tthis because you are so offended by not being able to play this game when you want it.
Sorry but you are factually wrong about stating that no beta testers are in. Have you personally contacted every poster on forumfall? Yea no you havent...fail.
And it has been noted time and time again on the official boards that many of the consistent and longtime posters have gone missing. Enough to make a good observation that some are in beta. Some may have just given up sure...but not likely all of them.
It doesn't seem like there is a huge army of testers right now, so some of the old timers not being in isnt really proof that no one is. This is pretty common sense stuff....like grade school stuff.

Give it up my friend... The DF fanboys are so taken in by the word of Tasos (or whatever the hell his name is) and blinded by the hype that you can try as hard as you want to but you'll never be able to slap some common sense into them.
Being a bit skeptical or asking for definitive answers = "you're a troll!" to these numbnuts...

And we do know that people are in beta. I mean if you want to believe that the beta quotes were made up, Gianna's review is a fake, the italian review was a fake, then so be it, but then why are people like that here if they just refuse to believe anyone but themselves. Or if you want to accuse them of being in Tasos' pocket fine, but that doesn't mean they arent in beta.

I know 3 people in beta that are forumfall posters. 1 is a guild member of my guild, and the other 2 are friends who I have gamed with in the past. They have been leaking info on private forums. Of course this isnt proof so anyone itching at the chance to yell at a fan to make themselves feel better just let it go.
People have PM'd me when i mention this in the past, and why I have not given out names because I never know who is sincere and who is just one of the obvious hidden agenda trolls that would just report the names asap....everything i respond with in PMs have been almost EXACTLY what is later stated in beta quotes and reviews.

Shouldn't be long. The NDA will be dropped after December 31, 2008 when the game releases.
BTW, imbant I do believe you are technically breaking the MMORPG.com rules. Not only is it against the rules to break the NDA, but also to post information that breaks the NDA even if you are not a party to the NDA.
Saying you are in beta breaks the NDA, saying you know someone in beta doesn't break the NDA, but breaks the MMORPG.com rules, unless I am mistaken.
But as long as you're doing it, I'm friends with Bill Gates, and he knows Tasos, and Bill told me Tasos let him in the Beta, so yea, it is real.

I think you are very mistaken since I didn't give any names. I didnt share any info covered by the nda, or share the names of people who are in the beta. Simply saying "i know people who are in beta" isnt breaking the rules.
You would be technically breaking the NDA too with your bill gates statement so if I am incorrect I guess we will both be banned soon eh?

The beauty of the DF NDA is its so secret, no one can actually verify if it exists, therefore you really can't break it. MMORPG reps tried to get a copy but have been met with no response from Aventurine.
People say there's an NDA, if so, post it. Like the game, just so much vaporware.

Joking aside, Tasos really hasn't ever technically lied to anyone. This isn't because he is honest Abe, but simply because he says everything with enough vagueness and leaves enough wiggleroom to never be held to anything that comes out of his mouth.
So no, he hasn't really lied, but he has completely mislead people for the last 4-5 years or so.

If you refuse to believe the beta quotes are real, then there is no point discussing things with you if everything to you isnt true until you played it.
And saying lol professional beta testers is also ridiculous until you see the state of the game on release. Innovation comes through.....gasp.....innovative ideas. Who are you to say that the development strategies of Aventurine weren't succesfull until we see the state of the game.

Anyway believe what you want but myself i refuse to believe what is served to me on plate, i dont believe in comic reviews because they are comic, i dont believe in gameplay italian videos that are more than a slideshow of images than real presentation of gameplay(AGAIN SECRETS SECRETS, SECRETS), i dont believe in OB this month with so many things under carpet and i dont believe the game is in finished state and that the game is what i want it to be, not after all that. Now, you can believe what you wish but i just gave my reasons why i dont

You do realize that the comic that some link to when linking to reviews by gianna arent the reviews right? There are seperate pages devoted to the review....
This is a decent review that critiques some things as well as supplies screenshots that we have not seen before....how is that not proof?

What is this suppose to mean? Because a person is capable of writing a comic than their opinions on other things dont matter?

oK so shes friend of company, i see few screens there, that should make me believe
1. game is ready for launch
2. show me anything valuable of the gameplay
3. give me proof people are having blast with game and with the beta
4. show me anything more than few pics and "i played humans i fought some bad goblins"
No, i still dont buy it even you did research for me i was quicker an did it myself, but yeah we trolls dont research right? Sigh

Can you please make a new thread or at least stick to one arguement. You cant keep flip flopping...or at least admit that the information provided proved you wrong. I never said the link would proof anything you just decide to come up with in that list. Im done with this thread since it is clear now you never intended it for discussion.

Like it or not, the link that you are now aware of proves that. Unless you want to believe it is all a scam, in which case nothing will satisfy you till you play the game so one would wonder why you are here.

Simple question, do you admit that you posted your OP without really taking the time to research the latest updates and reviews and ended up posting false infomation.
A simple yes or no answer will suffice (I clearly watch too many law and order shows)
