EVE ONLINE: A SPACE ORIENTED MMORPG:
This is the second time I've tried out the 14 days free trial. I've played two different races, travelled around doing some missions etc. Got killed a couple of times, but it's entertaining.
Start, at the start I got overwhelmed by the control panels and control. Was a bit hard to understand how everything works, but after some days I got it right. Little complicated docking and transportation system, but ok.
Missions, I found the missions quite amusing and funny. Good variation and entertaining. Great reward for no job, but I ran into some hard missions where I had to kill a whole fleet of ships. That made me frustrating, because I really wanted the reward!
Death, When I first experienced to get my ship destroyed I was scared as hell! All I was left with was this crappy escape pod and I also lost some items. On my way back to the station I realized I was toast; I had no money to buy a new ship! But no: I GOT A NEW FREE SHIP! THANK GOD FOR INSURANZE!
I then continued doing missions and training skills. I found the skill system a little odd and all these skills and different books I had to buy. Really a weird system. The map and star gates was cool. I enjoyed riding the acceleration gates! Was awesome to just being "shot" into the space!
Graphic was good. I loved looking around me while warping and fighting. The game play wasn't that bad. I did sometimes hate that I couldn't use the wasd to move, but the right button choices made up for it. The autopilot was well done.
Short sum up:
One of the better MMORPGs I've tried lately. Little difficult to get into, but It contains a great introduction lady with a sexy voice . I loved that I just could sign up again for the 14 days trial, that made it cheap to play the game, free actually. Graphic was good and cool ships and a huge variation of missions.
I'll give it a 8,6/10.

Do you like EVE ONLINE?
sir you use the word MMORPG and in my eyes you are playing alone
plz try to join in a corp or make missions w/ other player or ONLY chat w/ them ( or voice chat) but for god sake dont play alone

The Brotherhood of Soban is recruiting mission runners and new pilots.
Look me up in game. My Char name is Shogun Archer.
Also we have a channel in chat called "Soban Brotherhood". To join our channel, just click on "channels and mailing lists" on the left side of your screen, then click "join channel". Then you have to type in "Soban Brotherhood" as the channel name.
Regardless, Master is right, you should definitely join a player corp. It makes Eve a lot more enjoyable. What corp you decide to join is totally up to you.
(btw we don't call em guilds in Eve)
couple things
1. Try getting a better frigate with better modules. the quickest and easiest way to make money when you first start out is mission running, and mining. The problem is, that most new players think this is the ONLY way to make money. Not true, its just all you can really do at first.
2. Dont EVER refer to a corporation as a guild. you will get flamed so quick its not even funny. i personally dont care, but there are some in the eve universe that take it much more serious than i.
3. Dont make a new character unless you plan on having a second account to haul. or an alt just to mess around with. The skill system being the way it is, and being able to buy implants and boosters, you can make any race of character do anything you want. My Industry corporation has all 4 races all doing basically the same stuff.

Welcome to EVE young pod pilot. Its refreshing to see such enthusiasm, and you are on the right road.
As others said, join a corporation that has a training plan, EVE University is a great place to start, but not the only one out there.
Also, download a few new player guides from Battleclinic, will really help you understand the game better, (and if you print them, make for great bathroom reading material)

Eve is an old MMO, but it has been revamped graphically and changed so much over the years its like new. Its not dumbed down and can be a little complicated at times, but it is a lot of fun. The hardest part about getting into the game fast is the skill point system where the longer you play the more skills you have trained. someone whos a year old ca fly alot of ships but someone who is new can only fly frigates and cruisers, other than that it is an excellent game; one of the best MMO's around.
