Has NC Soft made TR free to play?

The reason I ask is we are like three months out from the game closing and I think they should give these last three months away for free or did I miss that announcement?

i wish someone would make a legal server emu of it like they did with l2 cause i find this game very fun to play its so unique unlike other mmos where you just smash buttons

What would make the servers full if it's free to play? There won't be anything new for people to do. It'll still be the same old stuff with. I;ve played with the new crafting system and the PvP area, which is nothing good at all in my opinion. Machka the evil man/woman will still be playing too.

I am sure there will be an influx of new and former players once the servers go FTP.
All I want is to see, is the server brimming with players one time - even if that might be short lived

I doubt they will fill up even when it is free. The psychology of knowing it will close may prevent a lot of people from playing.

It should be in it by then. Its on the PTS right now. There are also some PvP zones that are supposed to be awesome. One has a mech of some sort.

Personally the PVP in TR never has excited me. It was flawed from the start and added nothing to gameplay. The return to Earth will probably get me to jump on again come January 10 2009 and see how it went.
They have added alot of stuff to the PTS for D15, here's a link if you want to check it out. Things usualy spend about 2 weeks on PTS before live but it might take a little longer now that most the devs are gone.
I can see a problem for me being the logos requirement. I am sure that I will be missing one or more of them. The return to Earth should not require specific logos. Just let people go back and try to beat the bane. Logos could have been a great idea if they had worked differently.
The logos that is required is EARTH and you get it during the leadup missions.
Oh ok. From the way it was worded it seemed like it would be more than one Logos.

There is no point, maybe only f2p fanatic gamers who love play 2 weeks on each game will like it.

Today is Dec 10, 2008, I decided to have a look at my account status for CoH/V and TR and all weren't active so I went to TR and clicked reactivate account to see what happens and I got reactivated without charge until Feb 28, 2009. It's F2P for me right now.
I can confirm this as well. My TR account was set to expire yesterday but after reading this post by sookster54 I quickly went over to verify, and my status is active until Feb 28th!

TR has now gone FTP and you can log in and play today. Although the plans to shut down the servers in Feb are still on the table.

leads to Game account details, where the "beta" account status is 'unplayable'
selecting activate account leads to where they want input of a Serial code.
It is NOT ftp yet... likely not ftp till middle of Janurary 2009. Leaving the Serial code blank brings up invalid serial code in red.
