This Game sounds awesome, but what about the PvP?

Okay, so I have been hearing a load of good things about this game and I have been looking at screenshots and watching videos and now, I definetly want to gobuy this game, the box version in stores so i can get the extra goodies. I just have 1 question before I make my final decision on buying it, hows the Pvp? I know that it has pvp in it, but I just want to know from you guys how good the pvp is. what kind of modes are there? is it open world or objective based or both? I just want to know in a nutshell everything about this games pvp.thanks

    •  All PVP is arena/map based.  It's also limited to a single server, however, characters can login to any server they want  - they're not tied to a single server like in other games.
    • A player enters PVP either through a duel challenge or simply entering a queue and waiting for a match.  PVP can be one-on-one, one-on-many or many-on-many (up to 5 on 5).
    • There aren't any objective-based PVP matches yet.  It's kill or be killed.  Eventually, we'll probably start to see posse (guild) based PVP, CTF modes, etc.., but not yet.
    • All characters are scaled to level 101 for pvp matches.  This helps even the playing field, but lower level players will have a much smaller arsenal of skills to use in any given match, of course.  That being said, there are several very good low level twinks who can do quite well for themselves.

Is it fun?  Sure.  I like the PVP in DR - it's pretty simple and straightforward.  Also, I don't know many other games where the lead dev will unanonymously challenge players to duels!

if you really care about pvp i suggest getting guild wars instead of dungeon runners, i tried the dungeon runners arena pvp it wasn't anything special its just enter kill the other person 8 times or the person with the most amount of kills wins in 15 mins and than if you lose you lost some rating and if you win you win some rating.

The arena would also put in with like a lvl 100 (highest lvl) if you were like lvl 10.

Playing: WoW and Guild wars faction.
waiting on: GW2 and next WoW expansion =)
played: flyff, diablo2, maplestory, dungeon runners, eudemons online, conquer online, runescape, decide online, perfect world, and atlantica.

    wow, really? That's pretty shocking.

With games like WAR giving extremely good service to lower level players in their brackets, I'm fast finding fault with all the things that WoW has done wrong.

I am playing EVE and it's alright... level V skills are a bit much.

You all need to learn to spell.

What part is shocking and what does WoW have to do with it?

The whole idea behind the Dungeon Runners pvp system is that anybody should be able to pvp with anybody else.  Everyody, level 10 - 100, is scaled up to level 101 during a battle.  The level 100 will have a deeper pool of skills from which to draw, of course.  That being said, there are a lot of level 10 - 15 "twinks" (alt characters with full mythic gear) who are very competitive.  Level doesn't make nearly as much a difference as does gear and experience, due to the leveling system.

Right now, on the public test server, they've changed the manner in which the ratings work.  There will now be two types of matches:

    1. Rated - first team to die loses.  If it's a one-on-one battle, the first player to die loses.   It's pretty fun and can make for some relatively quick matches
    2. Un-rated - most kills within the time limit wins - rating isn't considered - anybody can battle anybody - just join the queue.

That being said,  PVP in Dungeon Runners isn't particularly deep.  There are a few different maps, but there aren't different types of games like Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, etc...  I'd love to see the PVP portion of the game expand further.

lvl does make a difference considering if your lvl 10 you won't nearly have as many skills as a lvl 100 and that lvl 100 gear is way better than lvl 10 twink gear.

    Right and wrong:

    • Level does make a difference, as I stated previously, due to the pool of skills available to the player
    • Level 100 gear is not better than twink gear, per se, since the attributes for the gear are scaled, too.  If you have Tier 3 level 100 gear, it will be better (since it's essentially level 102 gear), but not tremendously so.  Also, there are enough skilled twinks out there to disabuse level 100s of the notion that they'll win based solely on level and gear.

If you're a level 10 without rainbow gear, chances are you're going to get completely owned unless you have some serious skills.  If you're a level 10 with full mythic gear, but completely suck, you're going to get owned.  If you are a level 10 with full mythic and know what you're doing, you're going to be very competitive.
