I am putting my foot down right now. No longer will I support this game if it has just the usual eight classes. You can go ahead and tell me "O Rosie you dony know dude, you havent even played the game yet" but no. I hate the whole eight class deal with MMO's now adays. Just like someone posted above, you just have the usual healer, tank, ranged, etc. cookie cutter classes. You can have a great story and great combat but without options where are you? The great thing about EQ was that you had tons of choices and every class was unique along with every race. Soon I bet your going to hear there is only four races in the game. Then you will hear things like "Well the graphics are soo good that its ok to have only four races. Bioware is a great company I will give them that snd I loved their previous games. I on the other hand will not support a game that wants to go ahead and do everything by the book and change nothing to the MMO Formula besides adding more story (Which I am sure means letting me make less of my own story), and making lightsabers "stick together" in combat.

On that note, I agree with you but we will never see a huge change in MMOs by a large company. Our only hope lies in the hands of an Indie company out there somewhere.

This is a forum for The Old Republic Online, and this is in fact a post about the eight classes that are going to be in the game. Now, I actually agreed with you and thought that they are going to have to bring something more to the classes to make this game more interesting. I should have wrote that in my previous post. But I thought your post would do more good on a forum where the SWTOR Devs would be able to see it. If I’m wrong for suggesting that you should take your complaint to the ones that are making the game, then I must be crazy. Bioware has proven that they listen to their Fan Base. The first indication should have been when they changed the size of the lightsabers once a couple “Fanboys” took notice of it. Not only did they change it, but they made a joke about it during Halloween. Look, I am not getting on you for complaining, I’m trying to get people to express there opinions in the LOGICAL area where it is going to make a difference. Cause, your intention might have been good but you can make it better by going to the right place and posting it. If they are going to make this game a great game, they are going to need insight from the people that have experienced other MMO’s. Assuming that was you..... Then maybe posting this somewhere that will do some more good than, hit a lot of people that just see it as complaining, would be a lot more worth it. Don’t ya think? thats not a concern, the concern is diversity in character development.

in TOR, there going for jedi being 1 class with 3 variations, supposedly, guardian, sentinal, consar or whatever there called.
how is that different then a mage class with frost tree, fire tree, arcrane tree.

the mmo market as of late has been extremely lacking in diversity during character development.
whats gonna seperate my jedi who took the path of guardian from another jedi who took the path of guardian?
in story, there are a ton of things, different powers, specialty in lightsaber technique......
how is this gonna play out and fit along to story?
cause the last thing that is star warsie... is developing a guardian that is nearly the exact same as other people developing guardians.
