"Subscribe to this topic" should be off as default. Many times when posting I forget this damn option and keep getting reminder mail about posts.
Not really a big issue this, but still its damn annoying. ::::31::

    alert settings

    turn it to "no"

    Yep - Murt is right...you can change that default behavior in your settings page under "Alert Settings" image
