I just wanted to share my thoughts about it.
There is many people who "hate" WoW and many "Trolls" who hate and post about DF. You can ask Why they do it? I think is answer pretty simple. These people just get sick from hearing from fanboys and worshippers braging about game with no proof or doing that about nothing. Lets take WoW for example. There is many people who says that WoW is great game. But why to repeat that over and over again. Yeah, it has some nice graphics, nicely done quests, but that is all, it really isnt much different from other MMORPG: same questing, same quest/monster grinding to get to end game and then do same dungeons for 10months just to get specific piece of equipment, and then expansion comes out and you repeat everything again. Everyone knows (who related to MMORPG and not only) and most people already chose to play or not. But fanboys still screaming how good it is... And so people start to hate them ( fanboys, worshipers not a game), so they hate community and community makes pretty big part of game. And so the war starts..
Pretty same for DF but a little different. You come to forums and see people braging about same screenshot for years, Aventurine says: there will be mass pvp 200 vs 200 (something like that) and people repeat that for hundreds and thousands times. It can really can get on your nerves, so the "trolls" are born to shut up those fanboys but that only increase fanboys faith in game (i think they see this as Trial of Faith: if oyu defend game only with faith and few phrases you will get to heaven(It is beta for them). And this is war in which no side can win because no side have any proof - fanboys, worshipers hangs on few ss and [rpbably one gameplay movie (if there is one) and trolls just see that pretty nothing happens and go by their logic that it is scam.
It is eternal war(at least for WoW) and it can end for DF at january 22 (But i guess it wont).

Well just to provide you some clarification, since your grasp of volcabulary is a bit rudimentary. Forums are a means to discuss both positive and negative aspects of a game. It is not the intention to limit the discussion to only positive subjects, what would be the point then.
Your use of the word 'haters' really limits you. The word you really want is skeptics. Look it up, you might expand your dialog.
As to your use of the word 'troll", the generally accepted definition is: "To deliberately post false or controversial messages to gain attention for the sake of attention, usually from people who genuinely want to help".
Hence trying to include skeptical comments as troll posts is a tragic misuse of the word.
So word hard on your English and vocabulary if you want to be taken seriously on this forum.
I just wanted to say what I see now in forums. Maybe my words are used wrong somehow, but i think everyone understands what i want to say. And talking about DF you are troll if you say anything bad about game... at least that is what i see...
And yes i agree that my english isnt best, that is so because it isnt my native language.
I think a lot of trolls/haters are past fanbois who have been dissapointed with the game or its pre development direction. You can imagine the poor kid who fell in love with darkfall like 7 years ago, only to have turned into a hater due to its long and boring development process.
As far as the wow troll/fanbois go..... If the wow player base can say "most mmos are wow ripoffs" the same can be said for the people who played other mmo's instead of wow, wow will look and feel like a boring rip of the game they played, for me it was everquest (despite release dates, if you go from one to the other chances are youll be somewhat dissaponted). The problem here is when someone trys out wow based on its crazy good reviews from fans, only to find out that its basically like the game they are trying to leave, possible with lesser graphics or something off from their current game. Then its like "wtf i thought this game was badass and its just like (insert game) only with crappy graphics.
I think a large part of the hater/fanboi "wars" come off the fact that your first mmo experience is usualy the best and wont be topped, emphisis on usualy as youll get some wow fanboi saying he left another game to play wow and loved it, no doubt. So for the kid who started playing a f2p game with grat graphics discussing that mmo with someone who started with everquest or DAoC, your going to get completely diffrent opinions on what a game shoud be. As far as some of the other games out there, you really do get the broken heart haters, they where let down, or it was just like another game they played and left, simply put they bit they hype bait, got reeled in, gutted and tossed into the cooler, and now will hate that game forever, and possibly the company that released it or developed it. (see funcom or SOE)
Theres also the aspect of mmo pride, one of the lowest forms of ego. "The mmo i play is the best because i play it, if another mmo was better i would be playing it but im not, so all you out there not playing the mmo im playing can suck it" so on and so forth.
Either way you look at it, these forums are more entertainment and less educational. Its a good way to vent or discuss the games we are playing or are looking at playing, but usualy, and i mean like 90% of the time, the discussions are either shameless advertising or shameless hating. Your best bet to find a good game is to play it, end of story. These forums are just too full of high emotional people to really judge a game fairly, if a new game gets less than 50k negative threads about it and how much it sucks, chances are its a really solid game. For ever negative thread or troll youll get and equal amount of fanbois ready to defend the game, its just how things go currently.
Just remember thr truth lies somewhere inbetween and youll be fine.
