Okay.. so.. Factional Warfare. Essentially, my race vs. your race. I've upgraded my clone to beta, and trained a bunch of learning skills and some combat skills. I want to drag a newbie-esque frigate into some minor PvP to get my feet wet. Here's what I'm thinking...
Incursus with 3x Light Electron Blaster in High. Warp Scrambler I, 10 MN I Afterburner & Tracking Disruptor I in Mid. Essentially, run as fast as I can into about 950m range. Orbit. Disrupt their get away and tracking disruptor should, I think, make it almost impossible for anything bigger than a blaster to hit me moving at 650m/s @ 900m in an orbit.
Thoughts?

right idea, but you've overlooked one thing: drones.
i think you're on the right lines, grab a tech 1 fitted frig and just go die. you can replace it easily enough.
best of luck!
Actually I found Medium drones basically worthless against frigs, Not every pilot flying a big ship uses small drones to kill frigs.
Ive recently created a alt on another account. Hes using a merlin fit with 2 Rocket launchers (named) and 2 Nos (named) in highs, AB/Scram/Web/Shield booster in mids and Ballistic control/PDS in low slots.
I get into a tight 900m orbit around a big ship, activate AB, Scram and Nos.
I havent been killed by drones yet... this is in faction warfare.
my baby merlin could pretty much keep the Shield booster running full time, holding a big ship in place for the bigger ships to kick its ass.
So imo your ship is decent.
PLaying: EvE, Ryzom
Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum
They recently changed drones because medium drones were way too powerful against frigates, a change which I had been waiting for years already. Use light drones against frigates, those will do the job fast enough, if not as fast as you'd hope.
Personally, I think the tracking disruptor may even be a bit much, as few weapons enough get decent hits at 1km when orbiting at such speeds even without it. It does give a hand for your buddies, but for a fleet tackle fit, I'd probably rather slap on a sensor dampener and go hug a sniper. For a bit more soloesque work, slap on a web to really mess with their movement (remember, scram first, web second!).
Otherwise the fitting seems decent, and you seem to have a clue. Have fun in Factional Warfare!
warrior IIs will still chew up a frig pretty fast. or medium ecm drones will break your lock.
those are the only drones ive ever used in pvp.
