pupkeviciuspupkevicius Member Posts: 3

hi i havent played a mmorpg for  a long time,

i used to play final fantasy online, so if you played you will know what i mean in the next bit.

1. i need a mmorpg that after a ceratin point rewards creating parties heavilly for levelling as opposed to solo leveling.

2. also ha a auction type market and economy,

3. has some pvp element to it that is exciting

4. has nice server populations so that you can always find parties and people in places you go to.

thanks

Try Atlantica Online. It has an auction house, the pvp can be found in duels and arena type battles, it's still a pretty new game so there's lots of people around, and it rewards players that group by giving more experience and better item drops. So far it is the only game that encourages grouping as far as I know.

Sorry to say this but iv been looking for a replacement game for FFXI as well for the past well.. 3 years now. (Been on FFXI since 2004 looking since end of 2005) I always end up going back to FFXI after a month or 2 of looking.Have not found it. I have treid Guild wars, Cabal, Atlantica, rune sof magic, Lord of the rings online, City of Heroes and villains, Pirates of the burning sea, 2 moon, 12 sky, Hero online, Sword of the new world, Vanguard, Hellgate London, Phantasy star universe, Everquest 2, Lineage 2, Age of conan, Perfect world international, Requiem, and D&D online.

None of the games I mentioned play anywhere near FFXI with more PvP, Which is also kinda what I am looking for in a game too. FFXI's good solid group game play, where jobs compliment other jobs to make a party solid. A good skill chain/ combat system to make the grind enjoyable. A deep story for those who are willing to work a little. And a solid community.

Honestly Guild wars is probably the funnest thing Iv ran into outside of FFXI, and it really is fun, but its not what you are looking for.

Yes guild wars is mostly group based, since you will probably find it very easy to do any or every mission with  a group, and there are usually people doing most of them in groups. Then there is the new Dungeons they added which is also group content, and the PvP in guild wars is simply spectacular. The real deal in guild wars is you buy the game once and thats it no monthly fees, so I would say at least give it a try but teh trilogy now it only costs like 40 bucks for 3/4 games. You don't really need The expansion until you beat at least 1 of the 3 games. So If you have extra time, and want a fun Group based game with PvP play Guild wars, but IT IS NOT anything like FFXI. Its very fun enjoyable and worth ur money in its own category.

Well, EQ2 works good for all those point's except one, it's PvP is not good.

Unfortunatly most games todat don't reward group play as much as they used to. You can go for AoC if you'r computer is top notch, otherwie don't bother. AoC is also a little to solo friendly maybe.

Vanguard don't have that good playerbase.

Warhammer is not right feither for grouping nor economy.

Runes of magic and Atlantica like someone said is far away. You can just forget good economy in a F2P game with itemshop. Atlanticas turn based solo friendly game is not what you are looking for.

    LOTROs PvP sucks.

Guildwars could work but the problem there is that you can fill your party with bots so many players don't start doing things together before the game really gets hard (Which is after 30% of the first campaign, 50-75% of the 2 others).

And you probably already tried Wow. And it is quite solofriendly too.

No, I think I have to recomend EQ2 anyways, it have loads of really good dungeons. The PvPP could have been better, I know. Particulary the balance between all the classes are bad. But it do have a lot of other fun things like player housing, crafting, loads of RAIDs, content enough for a long time of playing and so on. Try the free trial and if it don't work for you try something else. Just remember to start group after you hit lvl 12 or so, the solo play kinda sucks, the game only shines when you do grouping unless you love crafting.

    Good luck
