I have never understood the people and bashing RMT. If you don't like it, don't use it simple as that. Most if not all RMT models do not sell "top of the line" equipment if they sell equipment at all.

It is a less attractive, "legalized", form of buying items. What is your point? In VG you can get like 100g for $4; or so I was told by a farmer last night when I logged on for my trial.
Unless SOE starts selling gold, which it looked like they were only selling startup/halfway decent items; then you can move along with the theory.
Guess we'll have to play it like Darkfall, wait a while and hope something good happens. Right?
Oh yeah, Locklain you play VG? I kind of lost my WAR hopes, not quite what I thought, and have been playing Fallout 3 for a while.

Am I correct in interpreting this as "Station Cash"??? Which would then be used to buy items, not in-game money? Did they not say station cash would be used to buy items?
That is what that looks like to me. I'd look into it further, but I'm "working" at the moment. So I can only shoot theories down, not make my own.
Posted this in another thread, but just in case you dont' see it Samurai:
"The Marketplace will offer a variety of items to enhance your in-game experience. The options include potions for adventuring and tradeskilling, house pets, or pets that will follow you as you adventure, and even armor for your appearance slots!" Pulled from the SOE site.
Now I don't play EQ2 or EQ anymore, so I don't pretend to know. From what this lists, I don't see weapons or other "adventuring" gear in that list. Does anyone else?
I resubbed to VG last night. Its the only game on the market that I find really fun at the moment. EQ got a cash shop, I don't care. Even if VG gets a cash shop I still don't care. I wont buy anything. If other people feel the need to pay extra money for in game items, thats up to them and it wont affect me at all. I just want to play a fun game. VG is a great game with really good classes and features.
I really don't see the whole panic about this unless you are one of the people that cannot resist spending your money on items.
I will be on VG and totally recomend anyone who likes great PvE to go ahead and get this game. No matter what game you get you are funding a company that may or may not make decisions you like, and really thats up to them to do. I could care less if someone gets +50% exp for 2 hours and I don't. It doesn't bother me the least bit. I'm still going to play it just like I play any other MMO.
Its funny this very weekend I was going to drive to walmart and buy a copy of Vanguard, and play it for at leat 3 months+ thanks to this move by SoE however I will do nothing to help Sony make money in any way. I was also going to buy a PS3 This winter, Well Guess Ill be upgrading my Xbox 360 HDD instead and buying Mirrors Edge. Ill stick to FFXI until this entire fiasco with the cash shop becomes fixed. Once they get rid of it I may re consider buying Vanguard, Such a shame too, because Vanguard is a fun game, But on that same note so is FFXI to me, and I don't have a cash shop there to worry about.

Not to be rude...well yeah I guess so; but we get it. You hate SoE and you won't be playing. Thanks for informing us with something that likely won't affect VG.
Perhaps you should head to the EQ2 and EQ forums, they are actively discussing it because it is in those games...
Station cash is not in game money. Station cash is just a special form of money to buy items from the station market. Currently the station market has a bunch of fluff stuff like armor sets with no stats, pets, a few house items. The only thing that it offers that is interesting are XP potions. The good ones are 2 hours 50% boost to xp. But these cost 1000 station cash which costs 10 dollars. Pretty damn expensive for a 50% xp boost...
There is a feedback thread on the eq2 forums if you want to feedback. As long as they don't start selling items with stats and keep it to xp buffs and fluff items I'm not sure I personally care.
If your not playing any SOE games (as in Vanguard), if you are waiting for Darkfall, why on earth are you posting here repeatedly with stuff MOST of us are not bothered about.
If you don't like the payment system, don' play the game, its simple...
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS) Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
You know maybe it is time to start looking at the darkfall forums, doing some research and posting some throughts about that game. I'm sure the forums their are dead and need some boost in discussion.

SAid nothing about VG.
