MMOs with lots of different builds for characters etc

im looking for a game where you can get as much customized gameplay as possible.

examples? guildwars i guess.  you could change skills, attributes, proffesions.

what else? kwonho maybe... it was an action mmo, but kinda great apart from lag.

 

what exactly im looking for? if any of you played warcraft 3 custom map called DotA there

are lots of heroes that might look like lets say 'tank' from the first glance. however with help of items you could convert some heroes into potential dpsers and supporters.

and no you dont have max level or anything idiotic as that if i want to test that out.

even such terrible game like muonline had elf class which you could level either as archer or mage.

diverce builds, talents in games is what im looking for.

EverQuest and EQII have quite the skill and character customization. Tons of it if I remember. If you want something free with lots of skills and customization of them, Runescape is the only one I can think of Don't hurt me for saying Runescape, please. :P

hmm maybe saga of ryzom?

i don't play the game atm (i don't like the setting very much)

but you can skill whatever you want in ryzom. i think the game is free atm so nothing to loose if you try it

sounds free for me

this will maybe change in the future with the new owner but atm its free.

ohh and be careful on atys the planet is really alive and the game can be pretty confusing as newbie.

i read a devs post in forums which was written at the end of october.

it said that saga of ryzom will become p2p again by the end of november (which means it was p2p before just like i recall).

its already the beginning of december and there is no news post about anything.

 

oh nvm found another post:

"This means that the game will stay free for everybody for the rest of this year, and we will start afresh in January ! "

hmm how about Anarchy Online ?

The game is free (only without the addons but Shadowlands sucks anyway ).

you have to choose a profession but the skill system is very flexible.

 the grafix are really old, but the game is very complex and char customisation is one of the best (implants nano's and other stuff).

been awhile since i played ryzom, but if it hasn't changed it really is 'customization' in disguise.

sure you could train this and that, but after awhile everyone pretty much had the same things trained, almost eveyrone wsa the exact same barring a meaningless skill here and there.

Some quick games with lots of customizaton I can think off of the top of my head are Ragnarok online allows you to change your stats down side is the game was made a while ago and only has 2.5D graphics and when you change your armors they dont chage upside is slotted equips and cards from every monster in the game allows you alot of building potenial char builds

anther one off the top of my head is Rose online which allows you to build you stats and skills however you want such as a mage who has limited buffs and heals skills from the presit since they both eveolve from the same main class. 3d graphics (cartoonie) tho in this game the equips are lacking with armors based on levels only so pretty much all the classes look the same tho in the equips department the weapons are not class spefic they are based on your stats only so usung the example above you could make a mage who has mage offence preist healing and weilds a bow or a swrod or a gun
