seeking advise as a beginner

I was not into mmorpg until I heard the matrix online coming up.. I am very excited about it, but I have little problem, actually it is a concernimage.. I have never played a mmorpg game before, and I wanna get familiar with mmorpg games.. shall I wait for "the matrix online" or buy a new game to get used to mmorpg world? will it be hard for me to get used to play "the matrix online" without any experience? If it is better idea for me to buy a new game before sega releases "the matrix online", what game should it be?image

    First, calm down.

Second, I'm thinking you are going to run into some hardcore roleplayers and noob hostile enviroments in MxO.  I think another game, to get you into the mmorpg feel and work off your um noobness would be good.

Something like COH will get you caught up in combat and teamplay and it wont drag you in for months at a time so you can switch to MxO easily upon release.(hmm thought noobs do like coh)

Another thing, if you really want some help I suggest you go the matrix online official forums and see what's the 411, this board is dead.

You will get noob haters wherever you go.  Even most forums :/

However, one thing the liscensed titles have in common, is players who have never tried a MMO before jumping in w/ both feet because they like the title.  (SWG was one, and MXO will be one too from reading the official forums)

I would say don't sweat playing another MMO for practice, they have a way of sucking you in and you may never make it to the Matrix after trying one.  Just hook up with a couple of like minded people in game, and have fun.  Being social is the main draw for a MMO be it teamwork or competition (pvp)

i would suggest going to www.betawatcher.com and getting into an open beta mmorpg. that way you can get a general feel for the way it works without paying a dime.

I remember hearing that they invited a lot of noobs specifically and they all had problems so monolith changed the interface and such based on the feedback on the noobs.

imageI think if you want to start with nice, easy and friendly MMORPG then you should try LINEAGE 2.

Verry good game. MxO is hard and complicated, combat in game is difficoult and hard to play for a Newbie like u.

Since i was born i was playing MMORPG. The best game ever played---> LIFE!

Personally, I would go out and get KOTOR, it will teach you all the same basics of an online RPG and its just an all around great game that you can play offline

There are several MMOs that have free trials oor are in open betas right now, I would suggest looking up some of them and giving them a try if that's the route you want to go.  I personally would not go out and buy another MMO just to use to get familiar with the controls and such for a different MMO, why waste the money eh? :)
