Received an E-mail today from the Warhammer team to let me know that i can now download the full game directly for a discounted price from 10th to 28th of December. Now, Warhammer is available over here now for;
Play - £9.99
Gameplay - £26.42
Amazon - £16.99
Game - 17.99
So how much do you think that this discount download is gonna cost me, only £29.99, PMSL!!!!
Someone in their marketing department needs to be shot if they think they are gonna lure players of other MMO's in with those sort of e-mails.
Don't think i will be jumping ship from WoW any time soon

I am a long term WOW player, long time contributer to this forum, i just found it a bit funny, thought i would share and also thought it would make a light change from the usual 'WOW is dead' posts.
If it wasn't too clear maybe i should explain, you see the e-mail was designed to look inviting and to lure players to their game you see and i was just pointing out that it was a bit useless since if i wanted to play their game i could get it cheaper elsewhere. Hope that clears it up a bit for you, drop in another post if you need a little more clarification on that one!

Mark Jacobs uses other man's forums to promote his game and even discuss with his gamers. He doesn't like to have own forums, but using other mans forums to promote his game is exactly in the same line of these politics. Try to lure every Wow player through their own community.

The problem is that after I have played War, I just knew this technique backfires. War is far from comparable with WotLK and someone have to say to MJ his game is far from worth playing as a paid sub based MMO. The only active players are mostly the newly one month free players.
Amazon has masses of unsold War stock (now being priced at 23 dollars even). Each copy sold is sold as a loss, they are this desperate to stop the exodus.

Since when was WAR ever competing with WoW? I thought Mythic said themselves that they aren't trying to be a "WoW killer".

What's sad is that it seems so many people want every MMO except WoW to not succeed. WAR is a new MMO, and WoW has been out for 4 years. Give WAR a chance to grow. WoW wasn't perfect at launch either, you know.

Yes, I saw that, thanks. I still don't see the point of this thread being in a WoW section. You said you thought it was funny that Mythic sent you an e-mail offering you a discounted price on their game. Did the e-mail say "Hey, stop playing WoW and play my game"?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but should't this be the Warhammer forum or even General? Otherwise it just looks like you're taking a crack at bashing WAR, no offense.

What? So taking a bash at War on WoW forums is somehow a taboo, yet the opposite is done in huge volumes the other way around, IE bashing WoW on War forum.

I am taking a swipe at the EA/Mythic marketing team for inept ability to market the download of their game on a par with the price that it is now available in the stores. If on the other hand i had posted this on the WAR forums, i would no doubt have been branded a WOW troll and all the flaming that entails.

dude, go log in to wow (it mus not be too fun as you are here, on the forums of a game you dont play) and run around with your death knight and leave us WAR fans on our WAR forums alone.

This was posted on the WOW forums and has been moved (good job by the moderators again i see!!!) i have no idea what it is doing here as this is exactly what i wanted to avoid.
If you go back a little you will see me say;
