Skinshifter, worthless?

Just got done taking a skinshifter, the shapeshifting class in TCOS, to 7. Only to find that they, in fact, can't attack or even HINT at wanting to attack while shifted. Even if you look at your skill book or skilldeck you get de-shifted.

Am I the only one COMPLETELY disappointed in this class? I say this, because I caught up with a lvl 21 Deathhand or w/e they are called...whom said he took a Skinshifter to 16 and found out they never get the ability to attack from shifted form. Which, in my opinion, makes them nothing but an aggro-less rogue class.....whos damage is subpar to the other two rogue classes because the WHOLE point of a shifter, is to shift into things to become stronger!!!

meh

[edit] To Clarify about my rant see the points below:

1-You CAN shift into local monsters/enemy NPCs in order to become "Friendly" to them, so you don't get ganked in hostile areas.

2-You CAN'T attack while shifted in ANY form.

3-Other rogue classes have extremely useful class "specific" types of combat benefits, or skills unique to those classes. Unlike, skinshifters whom get sub-par rogue skills compared to the other two rogues.

4-Skinshifters get mediocre versions of rogue type attacks, the same variant of attacks that the other two rogue classes get in much better quality and usefulness. See #3 for associative reference.

5-You have to come out of shifted-form to use ANY form of skill/attack/item

6-If you're on a pvp server, and you shift into something....enemy players can easily recognize you from all the other similarly looking monsters you shapedshifted into.

7-While shifted, you can't jump, strafe, dodge. See #6 for downfalls of this...

8-The only usefulness of a skinshifter is if your being ganked, or losing a fight, on a pvp server...you can shift into something closeby and run right into a mass mob of said, now friendly, mobs and NPC gank whomever was whoop'n ya.

It sounds strange that their main abilities would be so worthless in combat. I'm sure they will address this issue soon enough.

All I know is that I tried a Deathhand and it rocks. With a sweet ranged attack chain and some very complementary melee attacks I was just tearing through everything I saw. I'll probably play one of these at release.

Never played this class, or known it's functions. Hmm... that actually sounds kind of advantageuous. Sounds like a super-buffed stealth ability if you ask me, if the way you describe it (being able to shape into ANYTHING ) is a correct assumption. Think about it. Find a blob of sheep NPCs in an open field. Wait for a helpless passerby to cross. Then, go in for the kill. Once killed, you just wash rinse repeat. It would be near impossible to find you even if the person you ganked had allies. Or, even if you can't kill the enemy, you can retreat with ease.

Doesn't sound too bad for a rogue type, if you ask me.

I beta tested a skinshifter to high teens and posted about the fact that skinshifts did not aid in combat leaving skinshifters the only class that has no bodyshot abilities that heal or do more damage in combat.

The Spellborn devs have no plans to change this and fix it.

While the skinshifter bodyslots are more geared for pve right now. The word is that the devs do have plans to make some changes for the classes bodyslots towards pvp combat. As of right now you can shift into the different forms to get their buffs before entering pve combat or pvp combat in your normal form.

I do not see this class as worthless and I find it a very fun class to play.
