EVERYONE, give this game a try, and give it time!

Well, Runes of Magic launched today.  I have been watching RUnes of Magic for months now waiting and anticipating the release.  I have not played Runes of Magic as long as I have been playing Atlantica.  I never thought I'd say this, but I LOVE Atlantica!

Combat in Atlantica takes skill.  I find that with Atlantica I want to log in and play for hours.  Combat is involved and requires thinking.  Sure there isnt a lot of magic/spells.  But I got thinking, 6 to 9 characters, 2 spells each, thats not bad come to think of it.

I started playing Runes of Magic and found I wanted to log off after a bit.  The combat is click, press 1, press 2, press 3, press 1, press 2, press 3.

I am an EX-WOWer for 4 years, and have NEVER played FInal Fantasy.  I always thought i'd hate turn based.  I LOVE turn based combat now!

         Alot of players have bias against turn based games......They think they are slow and easy and that only real time games take any skill........What I find though is that it takes more skill to play this than it does to play WoW, LoTRO, or EQ2 or many of the other popular p2p games.......I enjoy having to control more than one toon.......Most of the complaints I have heard about AO are very petty and I think there are some people who jsut dont want to like it regardless of the gameplay.......Some people get used to playing games a certain way and when they have to change they dont like it.

Yes turn based combat is much better that those hack and slash MMORPGs, with this format you can device strategies and tactics in order to be successful in battles. I was also playing WOW then I tried AO, I felt excitement and longing for more of AO than WOW right after a few days, all I can say is that hack and slash MMORPGs is a mindless game, boring and it lessens your gaming skills.

I love this game too... i love this game so much that i even didn't sleep for like three days just to play this game. lol! hahahha! but i really do agree that this is the best game that is out in the open. so guys, you should go on playing this!!!

I loved this game because of its political aspect, in which a guild master can govern towns and eventually create a country (if his influence is strong enough). When I say govern towns/country, the game actually lets guild masters to perform pretty much all policies of the town/country in which he rules. These policies are concerned with security, economics, culture, and etc. which have direct tangible effect for the town.country. These features coupled with the one you guys pointed out, are the reason why this game is unlike your typical MMOs that are primarily focus on grinding.

im also an atlantica lover.. i dont know why people dont like turn-based.. i like the type of battle because you can set your strategy and tactics well...

Been playing mmorpg's since UO/EQ, and this one is the most addictive/fun/complex for years.

The devs who made this gem are genius.

oh yeah!! this game is the sh*t!! as in D SH*T!! its so good and addictive.. cant get enough of this specially now im always winning on free league!

i have read some reviews of this game and most of them saying this is not a worth playing game so worth playing my ass u mofos!! this game rocks! maybe you just dont know the difference of good and bad!

yeh i enjoy the game too alot to pick up tho but once you start getting it. it's fun very enjoyable i dont get much time to play but when i do. ill play for like 3 days straight too..

Very much long I waited for such a game, the climate of the game is cool, lands, music of the battle are fairly good I am loving this game

 I tried the game today, but the common crappy asian mmo engine is ruining everything. It reminds me too much on all the stupid grinding f2p MMO's. 

The combat system is really nice btw.

I'm just a newbie of the game, I just played it for 4days now, I've never got also into a Turn-based game and since it's new to me I always curious on every little details of it. But this game is very interesting. I know that  I still have a lot to learn. So, I hope you all guyz help me if I have questions in my journey to Atlantica. Thanks

yeah me too.. im also a newbie in this game i read a lots of thread about this game and sure they are correct.. atlantica online is the best... ive been playing for 1week now and still playing... i was gonna say it was fun..

yeah man your all right playing atlantica is addictive  cause it gives you bloodd pumping experience to battle with skills and many mercs and to other gmers with bet alright....  icant wait to pvp a higher class chracter love this game guys you all rock!!!

For the record though I do love this game, I always enjoyed the final fantasy turn based combat  so this game is right up my alley!

 playing atlantica online gives you the thrill to play not just one charcter but 9 of them even make a fomation battle to line up charcters right!!!! turn base game is such a exciting game  to play.......

hhahaha i'm guessing that there are a lot of noob player playing atlantica online (just like me) who couldnt stop talking how great this game is and would kie to share their experiences...

Im still level 20 in game and i am already having a blast without still experiencing PVPs and being being in a guild.

Atlantica is just build group up as F2P game. It just fits. The game is cheap for MMO but it is designed with the budget in mind and it does not cut into the fun at all. The turn based system is pure genius - low demand on servers and something different. The outside graphics is stock asian MMO with unbelievable lag (none cares, I bet most of players never even notice) but combat works well on all levels across whole globe.

It does get old eventually and does not really allow for expanding the gameplay but a) it is very catchy and truly free for quite a long time (so the kids believing in free cookies actually get one) b) since it is F2P you can return any time and play and pay as much as you feel like (yep, they make you feel so good that you just go and buy some instead of hammering item mall in your face).

On contrary, Runes of Magic is much  more ambitious project but in the end it is just worse WoW/WaR/EQ2 that is annoying with cash shop. It is reasonably nice quite responsive game (big kudos - so what it is Tab123 when I use autottack once, I am doing jumphots and change attack sequence; just becauce i can lame it lazy 123 does not mean i have to) in a seamless world filled with quests - but why would you chose that game over another? Because you are naive and believe in free cookies?

I agree, this game is a real surprise. I'd read a lot of praise for it, but was slightly skeptical. Having played it for a couple of days I can say it's the most fun I've had in an MMO since I first played EQ2. It feels fresh and has a lot of great features.
